About the team and role:
Opportunity to become a key member of ASX’s Finance team. This role will be part of the financial control team working on month end close, statutory reporting, capex reporting and rebate accruals. Working within the Finance team you will be exposed to the many and varied functions of the CFO office.
The Financial Control team consists of Financial Control, Finance Operations, Tax, Finance Systems and National Facilities. This role is within the Financial Control, focusing on month end close and reporting activities.
What you will be doing:

Half year and Year end statutory reporting for Group accounts
Half year and Year end Audit Committee and Board paper preparation
Capital expenditure and Project accounting and forecast monitoring
Management of fixed asset register
Month end tasks as assigned from time to time (including but not limited to balance sheet reconciliations, accruals processing)
Preparation of file notes on accounting standards or accounting positions
Assist in preparation of Board papers
Calculation and payment of ASX rebates
Other special projects and other duties as assigned
What you will bring:
Must have
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a finance or tax role
Strong Excel skills
Ability to pick up tasks quickly
Exposure to a strong, robust, documented and process-driven approach month-end, statutory reporting and preparation of file notes
Experience in working with auditors for statutory reporting
Being part of a high-performance team and assisted to create a culture of diversity and inclusion
Team player
Self-motivated
Planning skills and meeting deadlines
Nice to have
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a financial accounting and reporting
Understanding of Accounting Standards
Formal accounting qualifications - CA/CPA Qualified
