The Senior Accountant – Cost/Manufacturing is a key member of the Accounting team, partnering across the business to ensure accurate manufacturing accounting and provide insights that support smart, data-driven decisions. As the subject matter expert in manufacturing accounting, this role helps drive financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across our manufacturing network.
The ideal candidate brings deep CPG manufacturing experience, strong ERP expertise, and an analytical mindset. They are comfortable translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where they can make a meaningful impact.
What You’ll Do:
Align cross-functionally to maintain and enhance the inventory Excess & Obsolescence reserve.
Review cost adjustment transactions and inventory reconciliations; partnering with cost accounting team to understand the actualization process each period.
Perform in-depth variance analysis (purchase price, labor, overhead, yield, process order variances) and present findings to Operations and Finance leadership
Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Partnership
Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Procurement to monitor the accounting and inventory within co-manufacturing
Act as the corporate accounting team ERP subject matter expert for inventory valuation modules; support system upgrades, and user training
Perform Month-end close activities including journal entries, GL reconciliations, spend analysis and COGS and inventory reporting.
Assist in periodic and quarterly financial reporting commentary and management reporting.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across accounting processes
Other duties as assigned or necessary.
What You’ll Need:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2+ years of cost or accounting experience, with a demonstrated track record in a manufacturing environment
Strong working knowledge of GAAP, inventory valuation methodologies (standard and actual costing), BOMs, process orders, and allocations
Experience with outsourced / contract manufacturing and co-manufacturer cost structures
Advanced Excel skills; ability to build and maintain complex models and reports
Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to cross-functional and senior audiences

Salary Range: $75,000.00-$100,000.00 annually + benefits + bonus
Compensation within this salary range is dependent upon the candidate's experience, education, and relevant qualifications
