We are looking for a curious, driven, and detail-obsessed Senior Financial Accountant to join our fast-paced Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects, enhance our finance operations, and play a critical role in strengthening financial governance across multiple markets.
Why This Role MattersAs a Senior Financial Accountant, you will be the guardian of financial accuracy, integrity, and compliance. You’ll produce high-quality reporting, support statutory obligations, and enable the business to make informed, strategic decisions. Your work directly supports our global expansion and ensures we maintain world-class financial standards as we scale.
What You’ll Be DoingFinancial Reporting & Compliance
Oversee and review bank reconciliations prepared by the bookkeeping team.
Ensure all general ledger transactions are valid, accurate, and complete.
Prepare monthly financial reporting packs and balance sheet reconciliations for review.
Draft statutory financial statements and support internal and external audits.
Assist Group Tax with accurate and timely VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory returns.
Financial Operations
Prepare journals and monthly reconciliations with major pay-in/pay-out partners.
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with regional regulations.
Work closely with internal departments to resolve commercial and financial issues.
Business & Process Improvement
Contribute to finance improvement initiatives, new system implementations, and month-end efficiencies.
Support workstreams for new market expansion and business maturity.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and drive automation.
Qualifications
CA (SA) — essential
0–2 years post-articles experience (financial services exposure desirable)
Experience & Knowledge
Exposure to multinational group structures, ideally across Africa or the UK.
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
VAT and corporate tax preparation experience (in collaboration with Tax teams).
Experience in regulated financial services or fast-growth environments (advantageous).
Technical Competencies
Advanced MS Office (Excel required).
Strong time-management, analytical thinking, and organisational skills.
Excellent understanding of financial reporting best practices.
