GENERAL OVERVIEW:
This job is responsible for supporting the hospital chief financial officer in overseeing the financial performance of the hospital. This job will work closely with operational leaders to ensure they have the access, reporting and training required to make operational and financial decisions. The position will collaborate with corporate finance teams to ensure alignment of corporate financial processes and policies in the hospital. The position will assist the CFO in providing insights to hospital and corporate leadership on the financial drivers for the hospital.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for initial population of standard financial and volume data in hospital specific for monthly financial reports, analysis, and presentations to hospital and network leadership. Provides initial inputs on themes / outcomes for the month. Work with corporate finance teams (FP&A and Decision Support) to integrate into overall AHN Hospital monthly result narrative 15%.

Track / approve position request . Work with Workforce Management Office to review and approve open positions 15%

Support operational managers with Kronos reporting. Partner with corporate to gain understanding on how productivity standards are determined, provide perspective on how those standards align / don’t align with specific hospital operations and update as necessary to accurately represent the department's work effort 15%.

Liaison between clinical and operational managers when issues occur with purchasing, invoicing, etc Initial training of new managers of Finance/ Productivity reporting and systems 10%.

Run basic profitability reports from Tableau / Strata. Basic understanding of how to read / summarize profitability and variance reports Utilize tableau reporting and other self service tools to support hospital analytic needs. Collaborate with Decision Support on hospital analytic needs 10%.

Work with corporate budget team and onsite leadership teams to validate budget assumptions and final budget submission 15%.

Collaborate with department managers to document and track capital request through the capital process (run mini “capital committees” at each hospital). Work with Capital team to ensure hospital capital plans are aligned with overall AHN Capital Plan. Ensure capital system is current with all capital requests 5%.

EXPERIENCE:
Required

3 years of experience in finance or Accounting role

3 years in the healthcare industry, particularly as it relates to hospitals or other providers

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, statistics, or related field (OR) 6 years of related and progressive experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)

Ability to analyze and interpret various types of data including financial results, operational metrics, clinical outcomes, and other key datasets

Ability to juggle multiple projects at once and manage time effectively, in order to meet established deadlines

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop partnerships across the organization

Self-starter who takes initiative, and drives progress on major projects without being asked or with minimal supervision
