This is a senior leadership position within the Finance Operations team, acting as the No.2 to the Head of Finance Operations. As the Senior Finance Manager, you will provide strategic leadership across six core operational areas, driving long-term financial planning, the people agenda, and team development. You will be instrumental in executing a 3-year plan to simplify, centralise, and automate processes across onshore and offshore teams while maintaining a robust financial control framework.

What You’ll Be Doing
 

  • Leading & Developing Talent: Lead, coach, and motivate a diverse team, overseeing 18 onshore resources and 43 offshore resources across six operational areas, ensuring a strong talent pipeline and a fit-for-future structure.
  • Driving Process Automation & Centralisation: Proactively lead 'Speed Up and Simplify' continuous improvement initiatives, driving centralisation and automation to enhance efficiency and optimize headcount.
  • Managing Financial Operations & Income: Hold overall P&L responsibility for Gift Cards, oversight of £48m in annual Online Media Income, and balance sheet responsibility across 139 accounts.
  • Delivering Operational Metrics: Ensure strict compliance with SLA deadlines, maintain credit risk controls, manage GSCOP compliance, and ensure 99% of invoices are paid to terms.
  • Senior Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with Director and Executive-level stakeholders, translating complex profit and cost drivers to support key strategic and commercial decision-making.
  • Risk & Policy Governance: Actively manage significant items on the Finance Risk Register and oversee the group-wide expenses and travel policy process.

What We’re Looking For
We need a Professionally Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) with a proven track record of leading large finance teams and driving large-scale change within complex, fast-paced organisations.

  • Leadership & Coaching: Demonstrated capability to shape departmental culture, manage performance, and build cross-functional alignment.
  • Commercial & Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of commercial drivers, operational metrics, and financial accounting systems (e.g., Oracle).
  • Change Management Expertise: Hands-on experience delivering centralisation, automation, and continuous improvement projects under pressure and ambiguity. 
  • Strong Communication & Stakeholder Influence: Ability to build networks with Senior Directors and explain financial implications clearly.
  • Analytical Thinking & Resilience: Excellent numerical skills combined with the adaptability to navigate an evolving environment.

Skills Required

  • Professionally qualified accountant with CIMA, ACA, or ACCA certification
  • Proven experience leading large finance teams
  • Experience driving large-scale change in complex, fast-paced organizations
  • Experience with talent leadership, coaching, performance management, and team development
  • Deep understanding of commercial drivers, operational metrics, and financial accounting systems such as Oracle
  • Hands-on experience delivering centralization, automation, and continuous improvement projects
  • Strong communication and senior stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and financial accounting skills
