In this high-impact role, you will serve as a strategic advisor to senior technology and product leaders, driving financial performance, operational efficiency, and long-term value creation across our SaaS portfolio. You will lead financial planning, analysis, and decision support for our technology investments, product profitability, and platform innovation initiatives.

This role is ideal for a seasoned finance professional with strong analytical capabilities, deep experience in technology cost modeling, and a passion for partnering with cross-functional teams to drive strategic outcomes.

What You'll Do:

  • Strategic Partnership: Act as the primary finance liaison to senior technology and product leaders, providing insights and guidance on investment decisions, resource allocation, and ROI.
  • Forecasting & Planning: Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes for the SaaS technology organization, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and growth objectives.
  • R&D Investment Management: Monitor and manage R&D spend across technology initiatives, evaluating cost efficiency and return on investment. Apply ROI methodologies such as:
    • Payback Period Analysis
    • Net Present Value (NPV)
    • Internal Rate of Return (IRR)
    • Return on Invested Capital (ROIC)
    • Technology Cost of Ownership vs. Value Delivered
  • Investment Analysis: Evaluate business cases for new product development, platform enhancements, and strategic technology initiatives.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Translate operational and product data into actionable financial insights using tools like Tableau, Power BI, and SQL.
  • Corporate Modeling: Contribute to the evolution of AvidXchange’s long-range planning model, integrating SaaS metrics, technology investment scenarios, and Total Cost of Ownership frameworks.

What We're Looking for:

  • Experience: 7+ years in FP&A or Finance Business Partnering, with a strong background in technology or payments industries.
  • Allocations Modeling: Experience with allocations modeling tied to SEC reporting categories and Technology Cost of Ownership frameworks.
  • Analytical Skills: Advanced financial modeling skills with experience building full P&Ls and scenario analyses.
  • Communication: Exceptional ability to synthesize complex financial data and present insights to senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Tools & Systems: Proficiency in Adaptive Insights (preferred), Anaplan, Workday, Tableau, Power BI, and SQL.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to influence decision-making and drive strategic initiatives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Mindset: Strategic thinker, intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
