Job Description

We are seeking a commercially minded Senior Finance Business Partner to provide end-to-end financial and commercial support across our Precision and Equipment businesses within the Trade segment.

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager – Business Partnering, you will partner closely with stakeholders across Sales, Service, Operations, Procurement and Finance, providing commercial insight, constructive challenge and practical recommendations to improve profitability, working capital and decision-making.

This is a highly visible business partnering role that combines financial analysis, commercial insights, pricing governance, inventory management and strategic decision support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Precision and Equipment leaders to provide commercial insights, financial analysis and decision support across sales, service, operations and procurement.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and monthly performance reporting, delivering clear commentary on key drivers, risks and opportunities.
  • Support pricing and margin management by analysing product costs, customer pricing, promotions and profitability outcomes.
  • Monitor inventory performance, stock holdings, working capital and inventory governance to improve operational efficiency and business performance.
  • Deliver reporting and analysis across sales, profitability, labour productivity, inventory, procurement and commercial KPIs.
  • Manage key month-end finance activities, including rebate reconciliations, accruals, margin analysis and journal preparation.
  • Develop and enhance reporting, dashboards and automation tools using Excel, Power Query, Phocas and other data platforms.
  • Support strategic projects including system improvements, business transformation initiatives, acquisitions and commercial growth opportunities.

Qualifications

You are a commercially focused finance professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, solving business problems and turning data into actionable insights.

You will bring:

  • Degree qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
  • CA or CPA qualified.
  • Proven experience in finance business partnering, commercial finance, management accounting or operational finance roles.
  • Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and management reporting.
  • Exposure to pricing, inventory management, working capital or operational performance analysis.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, with experience using ERP and reporting systems.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, commercially minded approach and commitment to continuous improvement.

Highly Regarded

  • Experience within automotive, equipment, wholesale, distribution, retail or multi-site environments.
  • Experience with data visualisation, reporting platforms and emerging technologies including AI.
