Job Description
We are currently looking for a talented, competent, and driven colleague who has made technology sales to SLED customers, their long-term career choice. In this role, you will report directly to the Enterprise Field Sales Director, SLED.
As Senior Field Sales Representative, SLED, your responsibilities will include:
- Driving new sales with SLED customers and prospects in a 20-state region (Midwest to Southeast)
- Developing a deep understanding of the customer’s business problems and positions the Brightspeed product portfolio as the foundation of long-term partnerships
- Representing Brightspeed at public events and collaborates with the marketing team to evangelize the Brightspeed story
- Developing and maintaining accurate sales forecasts, and achieves monthly and annual sales targets by identifying new sales opportunities through a sustained and rigorous prospecting cadence, presentation sessions, and partner networking
- Developing action plans and account-specific sales plan to increase overall total customer spend with the company
- Aggressively pursuing deeper knowledge of new technologies and sales techniques to increase sales volume and average deal size
- Working with prospects and existing accounts that are E-rate eligible for sales of E-rate products
Qualifications
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
- 3+ years of direct sales experience in IT, Data Center, and/or Telecommunications sales, including VARs and System Integrators. Prior experience with the Federal Erate program is preferred
- Practical Understanding of the OSI Model, Wide Area Networking, and Voice Infrastructure
- Good working knowledge of Salesforce.com
- Proficient in MS office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- The candidate must be comfortable hosting meetings in a virtual environment in TEAMS, WebEx, and Citrix Go-to-meeting
- Strong communication skills and formal presentation ability are expected

- Experience selling E-rate based products to schools and libraries
- Experience selling to State Govt, City Govt, County Govt, and Higher Education
- Skilled at identifying knowledge gaps and self-service through an online learning platform
- Ability to translate education and govt strategies into day-to-day tactical engagements.
- Ability to assess competing priorities quickly, delegate effectively and keep all task-owners, regardless of reporting structure, accountable to the customer's objective.
- Practical understanding of cloud and network security trends.
- Good working knowledge of Public Sector sales methodology.
- A self-sufficient, pro-active, results-oriented sales professional who is open to coaching and learning
