Purpose of Role:

The Senior FCM Clearing Support provides operations clearing support for Futures & Options. The role covers all top day activity including allocations, Give Ups, Give Ins, and constant monitoring of trade activity to ensure everything is clearing correctly. The Senior Clearing Specialist will advise other members of the team when issues arise and will liaise closely with Balancing and ION.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all top day tasks are allocated, cleared, and accepted in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Train other members of team on new processes and markets
  • Work with 3rd party vendor on setting up new products.
  • Assist balancing team with T+1 trade breaks.
  • Daily monitoring and problem resolution of exchange clearing gateways and third-party clearer file imports.
  • Daily monitoring and problem resolution of downstream internal system feeds and process.
  • Collaborate with brokers, assisting with all queries and requirements.
  • Report any issues to back-office supervisor and clearing manager.
  • Ability to work closely with IT and trade support groups, advising of system issues daily.
  • Manage top day trade activity to reduce intraday margin calls
  •  Efficiently manage correspondence through group mailbox, as well as personal email.
  • Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the SEC, FINRA, NFA, CFTC and other applicable exchanges.
  • Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.

    • To ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility

Skills and Experience

  • At least five to ten (5-10) years of clearing experience, required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
  •  Knowledge of Ion’s XTP Back Office & Ateo LISA & Teo Clearing software.
  • Microsoft Office experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
