Senior Export Specialist

Role Overview
As a Senior Export Specialist, you will be instrumental in overseeing and optimizing our export operations. This role demands an understanding of daily export tasks, coupled with a proactive approach to leading process improvement initiatives. You will regularly review all export workflows to identify efficiencies and areas of improvement, ensuring work instructions and SOPs are current and effective. Furthermore, you will serve as a critical resource for the Export team, offering advanced support, troubleshooting complex shipments, conducting training for export team, and acting as the primary escalation point.

Responsibilities

To be successful, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential duties satisfactorily:

  • Lead process improvement initiatives related to operational efficiencies.
  • Audit export shipments that are maintained in the document control sharepoint.    
  • Introduce, help develop, and facilitate training areas for the team.
  • Create, review, and update work instructions for each export flow.
  • Serve as the department point of contact for upcoming projects, corporate audits, and export compliance inquiries.
  • Manage and maintain export licenses, permits, and certifications as required for specific products.
  • Provide support and training to internal teams on export requirements and best practices.
  • Support Richemont Americas daily outbound operations striving to become a subject matter expert.
  • Prepare and oversee daily export shipments to various countries including Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Latin America and the Caribbean.
  • Work closely with customs brokers to secure prompt releases from US Customs and Partner Government Agencies.
  • Verify shipment documentation for proper valuation, classification, country of origin, OGA/PGA requirements, and record retention.
  • Familiar with filing and troubleshooting EEI issues.
  • Liaise with shippers, consignees, 3PL’s, brokers and overseas offices.
  • Perform special tasks related to export operations as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Experience

•          3+ years of export experience with at least 1+ years in a senior or lead role                                                                                                                        

•          Strong understanding of export controls

•          Strong working knowledge of Titles 19 and 49 CFR

•          Proven understanding of USHTS

•          Functional knowledge of US Customs ACE Portal a plus

•          Knowledge of Partner Government Agencies regulations and processes

Technical Skills/Abilities

•          All Microsoft Office Suite Programs

•          SAP knowledge a plus

•          ACE Direct reporting a plus

  •       FTZ experience a plus
  •      USFWS experience a plus
  •      Ability to dissect complex data sets
  •      Commitment to continuous learning and improvement

Education

•          College education preferred

•          Customs Broker License a plus 

•          Dangerous Goods Certification a plus
