Embark on a journey of change with MAS, by joining MAS Unichela as a Senior Executive - Technical based at Panadura to hold ownership of the technical aspects of the product by adhering to the critical path to achieving customer expectations.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the technical development process from sample stage through pre-production by ensuring garment construction feasibility, identifying potential technical challenges and driving timely solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams during technical and sewing review meetings to evaluate product requirements and determine the most effective construction and pattern engineering methods.
  • Oversee pattern development and validation activities to ensure patterns accurately reflect customer requirements, design intent and production feasibility while minimizing risks to bulk manufacturing.
  • Provide technical guidance and ensure timely communication of product specifications, construction details and customer requirements to all relevant stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Ensure customer comments and fit-related feedback are accurately incorporated at every development stage to achieve required fit standards and product expectations.
  • Review and validate pattern grading activities to ensure compliance with customer specifications and size standards.
  • Manage sample evaluation and approval processes to ensure all samples meet required quality, fit and construction standards prior to fittings, customer submissions and production handovers.
  • Facilitate costing, sampling and production readiness activities by providing accurate technical documentation, patterns and product information while ensuring adherence to critical path timelines.
  • Contribute to key factory engagement forums including DRA, PDRA and First Instance reviews by providing technical expertise, driving action plans and supporting First Time Through performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and Lean Manufacturing principles within the technical function to enhance process efficiency, quality performance and team capability.

     

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Diploma in Textile and Clothing Technology or a related discipline. A Degree in Textile and Clothing Engineering will be an added advantage.

  • 3 - 4 years of experience in a Technical, Product Development or Garment Engineering role within the apparel manufacturing industry.

  • Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern development, fit analysis and product development processes.

  • Ability to effectively manage customer relationships by understanding customer expectations and adapting to customer requirements while maintaining business objectives.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively managing multiple priorities and meeting critical path timelines.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles coupled with strong communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate effectively across cross - functional teams and customers.

 

 

Skills Required

  • Diploma in Textile and Clothing Technology or related discipline
