Embark on a journey of change with MAS, by joining the Active – team as an Senior Executive - Industrial Engineering! This role would enable you assist to effectively manage the Industrial Engineering and work study unit, ensuring the identification of the most effective work methods, setting of accurate standard times for operations, and coordinate with internal parties to facilitate the achievement of required plant efficiency level whilst continuously improving the operational standards

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the arrangements with regards to the machine layout with the Mechanical team, assist in line balancing and line feeding, and attend to any required work place engineering processes to optimize productivity levels from all production modules.
• Participate at the following meetings and provide and obtain necessary information in order to facilitate decision making:
  • Obtain relevant information on new styles by participating at the Style briefing meeting.
  • Attend the weekly Planning meeting and obtain the Production plan and discuss same.
  • Participate at the morning meeting, and discuss collectively on the performance of the plant on a daily basis.
  • Attend the monthly IE forum, conducted in collaboration with all MAS Active plants and share best practices, discuss issues, and agree on action plans whilst, ensuring the timely completion of same.
• Monitor work study methods, time study methods such as activity sampling, motion time analysis on identified operators and employ the best work study strategies in order to continuously enhance their productivity whilst, ensuring optimum utility of available resources.
• Establish and maintain relationships, follow Management instructions and conduct performance evaluations of Team Members, recommend for Training and Development programs whilst also, ensuring strict compliance to safety procedures and 5s in order to maintain a harmonious working environment.
• Provide machinery requirements to Engineering departments and obtain a commitment so as to ensure availability of machinery and provide feedback to the Engineering team on any issues that arise.
• Perform the following activities in order to facilitate an efficient production process:
  • Participate in change over meetings.
  • Allocate modules for each Executive and balance the allocation of Executives according to the volume of styles and urgent requirements.
  • Ensure change over meeting is conducted within the stipulated time period.
  • Ensure Standard Minute Value, standard hours and number of operators according to lay out is accurate.
• Ensure production issues related to work study such as bottle necks, operational variations, and operator issues are addressed in a timely manner and ensure effective resolution whilst also, educating Executives with regard to the above issues in order to facilitate a smooth production process.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Degree in Textile Engineering or NDT from a relevant institute.
• 3 -4 Year Experience in manufacturing in apparel sector.
• Knowledge of Industrial Engineering and tool of costing: General Sewing Data (GSD).
• GSD License is added advantage.
• Lean Knowledge and people management skills.
• Good decision making & problem-solving skills.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
