Job Description:

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Process Engineer (Senior) with strong expertise in III-V Epitaxy to drive the development and manufacturing of high performance semiconductor devices (such as lasers for AI data centers). The role centers on III-V epitaxial growth process development (MOCVD) combined with wafer fabrication, supporting both R&D and high-volume production. The candidate will play a key role in process optimization, yield improvement, and new product introduction (NPI).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, optimization, and qualification of III-V epitaxial growth processes (primarily MOCVD) for various device structures to meet R&D and production requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement of process quality such as: uniformity, defect density, and reproducibility.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) from design structure to manufacturable process flow.
  • Collaborate closely with international teams on process development, troubleshooting, and technology transfer.
  • Utilize data analytics, AI/ML tools, and statistical process control to enhance process capability and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Perform and support advanced characterization and failure analysis
Qualifications

Education

  • Master’s or PhD degree in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related semiconductor field is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree holders with strong relevant industry experience are also encouraged to apply.

Experience & Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience in III-V epitaxial growth (MOCVD preferred) is preferred. Candidates with proven track record in developing and qualifying III-V epi processes for lasers, photodetectors, or other optoelectronic devices will be given priority.
  • Deep understanding of epitaxial growth mechanisms, precursor chemistry, reactor dynamics, and structure design for III-V materials (e.g., GaAs, InP, GaN, or related compounds).
  • Knowledge of semiconductor materials and device physics, especially for Laser applications.
  • Familiarity with advanced materials characterization tools is an advantage: SIMS, XRD, AFM, SEM, Photoluminescence, Hall measurement, etc.
  • Experience using data analytics, statistical process control (SPC), and AI/ML tools for epitaxial process optimization and control is highly desirable
  • Fresh graduates with a Master’s or PhD degree are encouraged to apply. We provide comprehensive training from the fundamentals to help you succeed in the role. Candidates should possess a solid understanding of semiconductor materials and device physics.

Skills Required

  • Strong expertise or hands-on experience in III-V epitaxial growth, preferably MOCVD
  • Understanding of epitaxial growth mechanisms, precursor chemistry, reactor dynamics, and III-V structure design
  • Knowledge of semiconductor materials and device physics, especially laser applications
  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related semiconductor field
  • Master's or PhD degree in a related field
  • Experience developing and qualifying III-V epi processes for lasers, photodetectors, or optoelectronic devices
  • Familiarity with SIMS, XRD, AFM, SEM, photoluminescence, Hall measurement, or similar characterization tools
  • Experience with data analytics, statistical process control, and AI/ML tools for process optimization

Broadcom Compensation & Benefits Highlights

The following summarizes recurring compensation and benefits themes identified from responses generated by popular LLMs to common candidate questions about Broadcom and has not been reviewed or approved by Broadcom.

  • Equity Value & Accessibility — Equity grants, including RSUs, stock refreshers, and an ESPP, are often described as top-tier and a primary driver of strong total compensation, especially for technical and senior roles. Once stock begins vesting, overall pay is commonly viewed as hard for other employers to match.
  • Retirement Support — A 401(k) match of 100% up to 6% with immediate vesting is frequently highlighted as a standout benefit. This structure provides strong long-term savings support.
