The Computing Services central IT department provides services that have strategic impact on university goals. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Enterprise Cloud Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cloud computing principles and practical experience working with cloud platforms. As a Cloud Engineer, you will contribute to implementing, managing, and optimizing cloud-based solutions.
Your core responsibilities will include:

Assist in the design and deployment of scalable cloud applications and servers.

Work closely with internal teams and customers to configure and deploy workloads, including identity and access management, network architecture, application security, logging, monitoring, and deployment.

Participate in developing and supporting platforms to run services in cloud environments, including container orchestration with OpenShift.

Support the implementation of cloud-based solutions for AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.

Collaborate with architects and engineers to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Azure DevOps and Terraform to support provisioning and DevOps practices.

Contribute to cloud readiness assessments, roadmap discussions, and application modernization efforts.

Assist in developing and maintaining automated solutions for deploying, monitoring, and supporting cloud-based systems and services.

Identify opportunities for improvement in existing systems and support the execution of new cloud projects.

Provide input and guidance on best practices for building and scaling cloud-native applications.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

3+ years of hands-on experience in cloud computing, with exposure to cloud technologies and architectures.

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, and the ability to adapt to new platforms as needed.

Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions like Azure DevOps, Terraform, etc.

Basic understanding of containerization and experience with OpenShift or other Kubernetes-based platforms.

Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
