The Role

Bitstack is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to help scale our engineering organisation as we enter our next phase of growth.

This role is a key leadership position, acting as the bridge between our CTO and our engineering teams. You will be responsible for turning strategy into execution by structuring teams effectively, developing engineering leaders, and ensuring we deliver high-quality outcomes at speed.

You’ll play a central role in building a strong engineering culture, scaling delivery, and helping Bitstack grow into a world-class fintech and crypto product organisation.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Own execution of the engineering strategy
    Partner closely with the CTO and cross-functional leaders to translate company priorities into clear plans and delivery outcomes.

  • Lead and support multiple engineering teams
    Provide leadership across squads, ensuring teams are aligned, unblocked, and consistently delivering meaningful business impact.

  • Build high-performing teams through hiring and coaching
    Recruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent, while developing engineers and managers through feedback, mentorship, and career support.

  • Create clarity, structure, and accountability
    Help teams navigate ambiguity, set goals, define success metrics, and improve predictability of delivery.

  • Drive engineering excellence and pragmatic technical decision-making
    Support technical direction, guide trade-offs, and ensure teams build scalable and maintainable systems.

  • Strengthen collaboration across Product, Design, and Data
    Foster strong partnerships across functions to ensure smooth execution and shared ownership of outcomes.

  • Champion culture and ways of working
    Promote psychological safety, continuous improvement, and an environment where engineers can do their best work.

What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience as a Senior Engineering Manager in a FinTech environment

  • Track record of managing multiple teams and scaling delivery in fast-paced organisations

  • Strong people leadership skills: coaching, feedback, performance management, and talent development

  • Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on execution levels

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to align technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Experience building teams, processes, and engineering culture during periods of growth (Series A/B experience is a plus)

  • Comfort working in high-ownership environments with evolving priorities

  • Fluency in English (French is a plus)

Interview Process
  1. Hiring Manager Call (45 min)
    A deep conversation with our CTO and People Lead focused on your leadership experience, how you’ve driven execution in past teams, and what it looks like to scale engineering in a high-ownership environment.

  2. Technical & Leadership Interview Loop
    A set of interviews designed to reflect the real work of a Senior Engineering Manager, typically including:

    • Systems Design (60 min)
      A collaborative discussion to understand how you approach architecture, technical trade-offs, and guiding teams through complex engineering decisions.

    • Behavioural Interview (60 min)
      A conversation centered on your experiences, decision-making, and collaboration style. We’ll discuss real-world scenarios to understand how you navigate technical challenges, teamwork, stakeholder interactions, and how you coach and develop high-performing teams.

    • Team & Org Management Interview (60 min)
      Focused on how you structure and scale teams, drive predictable delivery, manage cross-functional execution, and translate company strategy into operational outcomes.
