With this massive mission, we are adding to our technical leadership team within the Finance Technology organization and are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Workday Financials technology team.
As a Senior Staff Engineering Manager, you will be an engineering leader leading our Workday Financials Engineers to innovate and build new engineering solutions, improve and enhance existing solutions as well as leverage engineering solutions to solve critical operational problems. The Senior Manager will lead the strategy and execution of a technical roadmap that will increase the velocity of delivering products and unlock new capabilities.
Position Responsibilities
As a Senior Staff Engineer Manager with the Workday Financials team, you will:

Define strategy and manage roadmap that aligns with stakeholders' needs for the Workday Financials system

Provide technical direction and organizational leadership for a team of Software Engineers who design, implement, test, deploy and maintain Workday Financials systems built to support GEICO’s transformation strategy

Present a vision and strategic recommendations with clarity and concision to stakeholders having varying degrees of technology fluency

Build and nurture a high-performing technology team, providing mentorship, coaching, and guidance to foster a culture of continuous learning

Champion the implementation of engineering quality to include unit testing, automation testing, security testing, among others
-
Work closely with the GEICO Finance organization to manage, innovate, and create new programs, direction and analytics that balance and improve the associate experience

Foster effective collaboration and communication across teams to align priorities, share best practices, and ensure smooth coordination for incident response, system maintenance, and upgrades
-
Manage resource allocation, and vendor relationships to optimize costs and maintain high-quality outcomes
Qualifications

Proven experience in a technology leadership role implementing Workday Financials system at large enterprise.

Deep knowledge of Workday development tools (Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Studio, Workday Report Writer, BIRT, Workday Cloud Platform - Extend and Orchestrate)

Experience architecting and implementing new and current Workday Financial systems

Experience leading the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of solutions for complex integrations

Familiarity with cloud security best practices and compliance standards

Experience developing and deploying applications in Azure, AWS or similar public cloud environment
-
Excellent verbal/written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate to both Senior Leadership and Highly Technical personnel

Excellent problem-solving skills, proactive, and ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment

Ability to prioritize and balance multiple assignments across the team and engage team members effectively

Clearly able to see how projects interrelate and have a strategic impact

Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for driving operational efficiency and automation

Experience with strategic planning, establishing and communicating roadmaps, budgeting and allocation of resources, as well as vendor collaboration

Outstanding leadership and team management skills with a passion for mentoring and fostering professional growth
Experience

6+ years of ERP software architecture and implementation/coding experience with Workday Financials, HCM/Payroll.

5+ years leadership and management of development teams
-
5+ years of development in a large-scale, mission-critical environment
-
3+ years of experience with automated testing including Unit, Integration, and End-to-End functional testing
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience

Annual Salary
$105,001.65 - $280,004.40
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
