Proof of work

The team

The Growth teams bring new users into the Kraken ecosystem and help them take their first step with confidence. We design and ship the entry points to Kraken across our website and mobile apps, including marketing surfaces, landing pages, and signup flows that turn curiosity into momentum. Our mission is to attract, engage, and inspire trust through every first interaction, guiding users to value quickly, safely, and with confidence.
This role is fully remote. We consider candidates in EU and EST US/LATAM timezones.

Why This Role Matters

The Growth teams shape how millions of people first experience Kraken and why they come back. Every visit, message, and interaction builds trust or curiosity. You will lead the engineers who make those first and returning experiences matter, turning awareness into engagement and engagement into lasting connection.

The opportunity

As the Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead multiple teams responsible for attracting users, earning their trust, and keeping them engaged, even before they sign up. You will partner closely with Design, Product, Analytics, and Marketing to build data-informed, engaging experiences that spark curiosity and drive return visits.

You will oversee acquisition and engagement efforts across Kraken’s website and mobile signup experiences, helping your teams balance quick iteration with sustainable technical foundations. The work spans landing experiences, reusable components for our content platform, and ongoing experimentation to optimize visibility, conversion, and user engagement. You will also play a key role in expanding our reach through search engine optimization (SEO) and new discovery channels such as ChatGPT and other emerging AI-driven platforms. You bring a strong technical presence — able to dive into architectural discussions, review code, and model engineering excellence while guiding teams at scale.

  • Lead and empower multiple engineering teams to build and optimize acquisition and engagement experiences across web and mobile.

  • Own key funnel outcomes, including organic traffic, return visits, and conversion from visitor to active user.

  • Partner with Product, Design, Analytics, and Marketing to design, test, and scale data-driven experiments.

  • Provide architectural guidance and participate in design reviews, code discussions, and critical technical decisions.

  • Build and extend reusable front-end components and CMS-integrated systems for content-driven growth.

  • Expand Kraken’s reach through SEO improvements, web performance optimization, and new discovery channels.

  • Uphold engineering excellence in performance, reliability, and accessibility across all initiatives.

  • Coach engineers and managers to operate with autonomy, clarity, and accountability in a distributed environment.

How You Lead
  • You set clear context and outcomes so your teams understand the “why” behind each initiative.

  • You balance experimentation with disciplined engineering excellence.

  • You foster a culture that celebrates innovation and data-driven learning.

  • You lead through technical credibility staying close enough to the systems to coach effectively and make informed decisions.

  • You coach for autonomy and impact while maintaining high standards for quality and craft.

  • You model empathy, transparency, and accountability in every interaction.

  • You promote clear communication and documentation for asynchronous collaboration across time zones.

  • You make reliability, security, and accessibility part of what it means to deliver complete work — keeping user trust and engagement as the north star for every project.

Skills you should HODL
  • Experience leading multiple engineering teams delivering measurable impact in acquisition, engagement, or growth.

  • Strong technical fluency with React (including server-side rendering) and front-end architecture.

  • Ability to contribute directly to and guide architecture, performance, and implementation decisions.

  • Familiarity with experimentation frameworks, analytics pipelines, and CMS-driven systems.

  • Understanding of full-stack architecture, scalability, and secure software design principles.

  • Experience improving SEO, page performance, and visibility through emerging AI-driven channels.

  • Commitment to engineering quality through testing, observability, and reliability.

  • Strong collaboration, communication, and coaching skills across remote, global teams.

Nice to haves
  • Experience with analytics, experimentation, or growth tooling.

  • Background in developer experience, SDKs, or internal platforms.

  • Exposure to scaling teams or processes during high-growth phases.
