The Role
Apollo’s GraphOS platform helps API platform developers around the world build and operate their data access layers at scale. It is used in production by some of today's largest and most innovative companies, including Netflix, Expedia, Peloton, DoorDash, The New York Times, and many more. GraphOS fundamentally democratizes data and accelerates business transformation. Our Runtime organization owns the critical tier of GraphOS - Core Router and Apollo Federation - the underlying engine powering GraphOS, making it a highly performant, secure, governed, and reliable self-service GraphQL platform.
We’re hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Registry team. The team's North Star is to empower teams globally to manage, govern, and scale their Graph QL ecosystems with confidence and efficiency through our CI/CD Pipelines and Platform API. We strive to set the industry standard for Graph QL management by providing robust, reliable, and intuitive tools and platforms that become the backbone of our customers' API development and deployment process.
What You'll Do
- Manage and coach a team of engineers, ensuring high-quality deliverables and aligning their work to the organization’s long-term vision.
- Drive execution by scoping, prioritizing, and allocating resources to deliver scalable, high-impact solutions to both internal and external users.
- Lead teams through ambiguity and change by providing clear direction, fostering alignment, and evolving team charters to meet business needs.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture grounded in trust, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with product, design, and engineering leadership to define roadmaps, shape technical direction, and deliver robust, reliable platform capabilities.
- Champion excellence in usability, quality, and performance across the systems and tools your team builds.
- Foster a high-performing, collaborative team environment based on trust, autonomy, and psychological safety.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to define hiring strategies, and actively attract and retain top engineering talent.
- Contribute to the team’s operational health, with lightweight on-call responsibilities as needed.
