- Lead the engineering organization for a cloud-based data ingestion and data quality product that consolidates information from multiple enterprise systems into a unified asset view.
- Define and execute the technical strategy for scalable ingestion, transformation, and reconciliation of large, complex data sets across many customers.
- Partner closely with product management, design, and go-to-market teams to shape the roadmap, prioritize investment areas, and ensure the product solves high-value customer problems.
- Own delivery of critical features end-to-end - from technical design and implementation through rollout, monitoring, and ongoing iteration based on customer feedback.
- Drive operational excellence by establishing and improving reliability and performance metrics, observability practices, incident response, and continuous improvement across services.
- Ensure high standards of data quality by evolving rules, validation, and reconciliation capabilities that keep customer asset data accurate, consistent, and trustworthy.
- Champion security, privacy, and compliance in how data is ingested, processed, stored, and exposed, working closely with security and compliance partners where needed.
- Build, lead, and grow a high-performing engineering team, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and developing future technical and people leaders.
- Foster a strong engineering culture focused on customer empathy, experimentation, technical excellence, and shared ownership of outcomes.
- Collaborate with adjacent product and platform teams to align on shared components, manage dependencies, and deliver cohesive end-to-end experiences for customers.
- Represent the product and team in cross-functional forums, communicating strategy, progress, and trade-offs to senior stakeholders and partner teams.
- Significant experience (typically 10+ years) in software engineering, including 3-5+ years leading engineering teams as an engineering manager or senior engineering manager.
- Proven track record building and operating cloud-based products or platforms at scale (preferably on AWS, GCP, or similar).
- Strong background in backend engineering and distributed systems, such as microservices, event-driven systems, or large-scale data processing.
- Experience with data-intensive systems - e.g., data ingestion, ETL/ELT, synchronization, or integration between enterprise systems.
- Demonstrated ability to set technical direction, make trade-offs, and drive complex projects from concept to production.
- Experience building and nurturing high-performing teams: hiring, coaching, feedback, and performance management.
- Strong collaboration skills with product management, design, and cross-functional partners, and comfort influencing without direct authority.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
It's great, but not required, if you have:
- Background integrating with common enterprise systems (e.g., HR, finance, identity, discovery, or inventory tools).
- Experience working in a SaaS environment serving enterprise customers with high expectations on reliability, security, and compliance.
- Prior experience leading teams through significant growth, re-architecture, or product evolution phases.
