Senior Engineering Manager, Confluence Dev Productivity

As a Senior Engineering Manager of our Developer Productivity team, you will be playing a critical role in driving the effectiveness and efficiency of our software development process by improving developer productivity, improving the reliability and performance of our CI/CD pipelines and local devloop, and backend monolith platform. This role is fully remote but requires you to be based in the USA Pacific/Mountain time zone.
Your future team, Developer Productivity, is a key strategic pillar within our Engineering organization. You will work closely with a team of 10-20 dedicated engineers at varying job levels, from recent graduates to senior software engineers and architects. Your leadership will be instrumental in building and maintaining the tools and practices that enable our engineering team to develop and deliver high-quality software quickly and iteratively.

Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are: Zone A: $205,800 - $274,400 Zone B: $185,200 - $246,900 Zone C: $170,800 - $227,700 This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity. What you'll do
- Lead a team of software engineers through hiring, mentoring, and career development.
- Work with product managers and principal engineers to guide the roadmap for scaling and evolving critical CD/CD, devloop, backend monolith infrastructure.
- Provide mentorship and growth opportunities for the engineers in your team.
- Champion cultural and process improvements through engineering excellence, quality and efficiency.
- Communicate strategy, plans, and status at all levels of the Confluence Cloud
Your background:
- 10+ years of experience building large-scale and modern web software at a similar sized SaaS company
- 5+ years of experience managing software engineers
- 2+ years of experience managing multiple teams
- Experience with managing and improving CI/CD pipelines
- Bachelor's degree with a preference for Computer Science degree
- Demonstrated experience implementing dev-ops best practices and producing measurable results
- Drive clarity from single-line requirements and providing direction in ambiguous environments
- Passionate about mentoring engineers and helping others achieve their career goals
