Job DescriptionAbout the role:
The team you will be joining: Business Account Experience
The Business Account Experience team is dedicated to building a cohesive, insightful and intuitive experience for businesses relying on Wise for their daily operations and financial management.
You will be instrumental in leading and building the team as well as driving both the technical and product roadmap while ensuring we continue to build for scale in a fast-paced environment. You'll collaborate daily with product managers, data analysts, and designers to continuously improve our Business Account experience.
You’ll make an immediate impact by driving our most critical projects, including:
Enhancing and building components to simplify how businesses manage their accounts.
Optimising our core platform to boost multi-product adoption and increase cross-currency volume.
Guiding first-time users through our Business account features to accelerate and streamline adoption.
Building new functionality that gives businesses greater control over their team's access and spending.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be an active member of the team.
As the Senior Engineering Lead for Business Account Experience, you will:
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of driven engineers, supporting their growth and empowering them to do their best work.
Work closely with the Product Manager and your team to shape the roadmap, set the technical and product vision and ensure the team delivers on product goals in a robust and scalable way.
Enable your team to succeed by ensuring they are well-resourced, can plan effectively, and are set up to commit to and deliver on their roadmap.
Stay and remain very close to the tech and product - setting high standards for quality, and leading by example.
Own the health and productivity of the engineers in your team, fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with other engineering leads and teams across Wise to ensure your team’s work is aligned with the wider technical strategy.
Own the hiring, growth and development of your team and its impact at Wise.
What do you need?:
You have strong, hands-on technical experience in OOP Languages and modern technology stacks on technologies such as REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems and CI/CD pipelines - you will have to complete technical interviews to showcase your knowledge.
Experience managing teams with a mix of Front-end, Back-end and mobile engineers.
Hands-on experience in building direct consumer / business products and strong senses for high-quality User Experiences.
Nice to Have:
Experience working on B2B products.
Fluent with modern AI-assisted development workflows (e.g., Claude Code) — prompting, context structuring, skills/automations, and effective AI delegation— with the ability to scale these practices across the team while maintaining a high level of quality.

Employees engage in a combination of remote and on-site work.
We expect new joiners in the office most days to build connections and learn from colleagues for their first six months. After that, most Wisers split their working week between the office and home, typically coming in at least 12 times a month.
