Job DescriptionWe’re looking for a Senior Digital Analyst specialising in Marketing Data Activation to join our Digital Analytics team. This is a technical Individual Contributor role at the intersection of Digital Analytics, Marketing Technology and Data Engineering.
You’ll help us build and operate the data activation capabilities that allow Wise Marketing teams to safely use our first-party customer and event data across advertising platforms.
A big part of your role will focus on our Reverse ETL ecosystem: working with data in our data warehouse, building and improving SQL/dbt models, configuring activation pipelines, improving monitoring and helping ensure the data we send to Marketing platforms is accurate, reliable and well governed.
You’ll think about the whole system: where data comes from, how it is modelled, how customer marketing identifiers are resolved, how it is activated, how we know it arrived successfully and what happens when something breaks.
You’ll work closely with Analytics Engineers, Data Engineers, Marketing Analysts, Paid Media teams and other technical stakeholders to build a Marketing activation capability that is scalable, observable and easy to use.
You will also contribute to the wider Digital Analytics stack, including technologies such as Google Tag Manager, server-side tracking, Singular and other Marketing measurement and data infrastructure.
What you'll be doing
You’ll take technical ownership of Paid Media activation through our data warehouse, Reverse ETL and the surrounding data ecosystem.
You’ll help move us away from manual checks towards proper production monitoring and observability of our marketing activation pipelines.
You’ll use SQL and dbt to build and maintain Marketing-specific datasets used for customer audiences, conversion signals and other activation use cases.
You’ll work with Analytics Engineering and Data Engineering on modelling patterns, architecture and standards, while developing increasing ownership of the Marketing-specific transformation layer.
When something goes wrong, you’ll help diagnose where in the chain the problem exists. You’ll take an end-to-end view of the service without needing to own every underlying system.
You’ll help teams understand whether a requirement is best solved through warehouse-based activation, our real-time tracking stack, an MMP such as Singular, another integration pattern or work from an upstream Engineering/Data team.
You’re comfortable using SQL to understand complex datasets and solve real production problems. You’ve worked with dbt or another code-based data transformation framework and understand the fundamentals of building maintainable data models.
You’ve worked with production systems that move customer or event data between platforms.
You have experience working with customer or marketing data including events, user attributes and identifiers. You understand how this impacts marketing performance.
You have knowledge of event managers within advertising platforms (such as Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, etc…)
You’re comfortable collaborating with Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers and Software Engineers.
You can discuss technical trade-offs, contribute through Git/code review workflows and know when a problem needs expertise outside your own team.
You’re comfortable with ambiguity and can take an unclear problem, investigate it, structure it and drive it towards a solution.
Nice to haves;
Experience independently owning production processes or data models
Knowledge of Python
Knowledge of APIs and third-party integrations
Experience with Conversion APIs (CAPIs) of advertising platforms (such as Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, etc…)
Experience with identity resolution, building customer and identity graphs
Experience with a Mobile Measurement Partners such as Singular or Appsflyer
