Role Description

The SAS team in Infrastructure - TDI is looking for a Technical Scrum Master with SAS as core development skill for its Data Warehouse platform called FDW.

Overall Responsibility

The individual is expected to play the role of Scrum Master (50%) of a large, distributed team of SAS engineers (mix of DB and Vendor resources) alongside being a developer in their spare capacity (50%). SAS team besides a small team of internals in Frankfurt & Pune, there is a close collaboration with a vendor team (now in transition from Manila, Philippines to Pune) of approx. 15 developers. The SAS team interacts with various interfaces to other technologies, mainly Oracle, Java, MicroStrategy and Unix. Furthermore, there is a close collaboration with Business – Group Finance and Risk – Operations and Production Support and other IT areas all broadly following the Bank’s custom agile framework.

Your key responsibilities

• Leading the squad as per the prescribed agile model adhering to the prescribed process
• Drive the various ceremonies i.e. daily stand-ups, Sprint Demo, and System Demo etc.
• Lead the overall PI/QBR planning both in terms of content and process.
• Work in close collaboration with other key stakeholders like lead engineers, PO and Tribe Scrum Masters to maintain a healthy backlog with right controls in place.
• Learning functional and technical context of the exiting code base
• Integration into the existing team and technical and functional enhancement of the code based on the existing platform.
• Close cooperation with the Algorithmic Solutions team (AlgoS).
• Development and refinement of the functional requirements provided by AlgoS
• Implementation of the requirements according to the coding standards given time limits
• Breaking down technical specifications into suitable implementation packages for junior developers
• Documentation and continuous testing of new development
• Being point of contact for audit requests.
• Participation on regular meetings following the agile working model (dbAgile@Scale) being a part of a squad and chapter.
• Participation in refinement and code clean up.
• Know-how sharing and knowledge transfer to the team in Manila.
• Designing the new target architecture and breakdown into technical specifications
• Close collaboration with domain architecture team
• Supporting the replacement of SAS with a strategic solution

Your skills and experience

Experience / Exposure

• At least 6-8 years’ experience in SAS programming using Base & Macro (V9)
• Candidates with prior Scrum Master or team leading experience would be preferrable.
• Experience in development of complex topics and code
• Working knowledge using SAS/Connect to Oracle
• Advanced experience working with mass data in very large databases and tables.
• Experience with performance issues related to big data on a huge platform
• Experience with testing environments and the development of test cases
• Working knowledge developing SQL
• Excellent analytical skills, flexibility regarding problem solving, open minded, able to share information, transfer knowledge and expertise to team members
• Service based architecture and designing of the same
• Technical architecture especially framework design

Desirable

• Knowledge in GIT Bitbucket, Unix scripting and Python
• Knowledge in financial business, especially in the counterparty credit risk area 
• Experience with SAS GRID Manager
• Experience with Airflow/Google Cloud composer
• Generative programming
• DevOps
