Flutterwave is looking for a motivated senior engineer to join our dynamic technical program management team. In this role, you will support the coordination and delivery of engineering projects that strengthen our payment infrastructure. You will work within engineering teams, alongside product managers and other stakeholders, to assist in successful project execution and delivery.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Program Management
- Drive the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering project workstreams
- Define project scope, objectives, milestones, and deliverables
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies
- Track project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, product management, operations, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders to ensure clarity and consistency in project goals and deliverables.
- Technical Expertise
- Contribute to technical discussions and provide support to engineering teams, adhering to best practices and quality standards.
- Assist in reviewing technical designs and documentation to ensure alignment with project tasks and system requirements
- Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance project management efficiency and effectiveness.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise project delivery and team performance.
Required competency and skillset to be a waver
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in technical program management or a related role, preferably within the payments or financial technology industry
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software engineering or a related field
- Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex engineering projects on time and within scope
- Excellent project management skills, including proficiency with project management tools and methodologies
- Strong organizational and task management abilities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex technical challenges
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is highly desirable
- PMP, Scrum Master, or other relevant certifications are a plus
