About Security Products

The Security Products organization builds the identity, authorization, cryptography, key management, and trust capabilities that help customers securely run sensitive workloads on CoreWeave. We work across product and infrastructure boundaries to deliver security-critical services that are dependable, standards-based, and simple to use.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable, reliable web services in a distributed-systems environment. You will work on foundational security products and services that protect customer data, enforce access decisions, and provide trustworthy building blocks for the CoreWeave platform.

This role is a strong fit for an engineer who enjoys solving complex backend problems end to end, from API and service design through implementation, testing, deployment, observability, and production operations. You will work closely with engineers, product managers, security specialists, and infrastructure teams to turn ambiguous requirements into secure, maintainable systems.

The ideal candidate combines strong software-engineering fundamentals with sound judgment around reliability, security boundaries, failure modes, and operational trade-offs. You will also help integrate CoreWeave security services with customers’ on-premises and cloud environments, including the identity, key-management, and security products they already use. You will have meaningful ownership of technical direction and delivery while helping raise the engineering bar across the team.

What you’ll do
  • Design and implement scalable, reliable backend services using REST and/or gRPC APIs.
  • Define clear API contracts, service boundaries, data models, and integration patterns.
  • Own services through their full lifecycle: architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, observability, on-call support, and continuous improvement.
  • Improve service reliability through effective error handling, retries, timeouts, idempotency, back-pressure, capacity planning, and graceful degradation.
  • Establish and use service observability, including metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and actionable alerts to understand system health and customer impact.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, incident response, and post-incident improvements.
  • Collaborate with Product, Security Engineering, Infrastructure, and partner teams to deliver secure and usable platform capabilities.
  • Design and support integrations with customers’ on-premises and cloud environments and with their security products, such as identity providers, key-management services, HSMs, SIEMs, and policy or access-control systems.
  • Work with customers and internal stakeholders to understand integration constraints, define reliable contracts, and guide secure adoption across heterogeneous environments.
  • Make pragmatic trade-offs between near-term delivery, long-term maintainability, performance, and operational risk.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous learning.
What you’ll bring
  • Strong professional experience building and operating production backend services and improving their reliability, performance, and maintainability..
  • Experience designing and implementing RESTful and/or gRPC APIs.
  • Deep understanding of distributed-systems principles, including consistency, concurrency, fault tolerance, networking, and service-to-service communication.
  • Fluency in Go, Java, C++ or Python; willingness to work primarily in Go.
  • Experience with relational or distributed data stores, asynchronous processing, and service integration patterns.
  • Strong testing practices, including unit, integration, contract, load, and failure-mode testing as appropriate.
  • Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly in design documents, reviews, and cross-functional discussions.
  • Sound judgment when working with sensitive data, trust boundaries, authorization decisions, and security-sensitive failure modes.
Preferred qualifications

Experience in one or more of the following areas is helpful but not required:

  • Designing or building authorization systems at scale, including policy evaluation, permissions, tenant isolation, or least-privilege access.
  • Encryption, key management systems, cloud key management services, HSMs, or KMIP.
  • OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, workload identity, federation, or related identity protocols.
  • SCIM, enterprise identity integrations, SSO, or lifecycle management.
  • SRE and reliability practices, including incident response, error budgets, capacity planning, and operational readiness.
  • Service observability using metrics, structured logging, distributed tracing, and production diagnostics.
  • Load testing, performance analysis, capacity modeling, and scaling strategy.
  • Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, infrastructure as code, or platform engineering.
  • Building security products for enterprise, regulated, or otherwise security-sensitive customers.
  • Integrating SaaS or cloud services with customer-managed on-premises infrastructure, private clouds, public clouds, and enterprise security products.
What success looks like

In your first three months, you will develop a deep understanding of the team’s systems and customers, and contribute to production services. You will take ownership of meaningful technical problems and improve the clarity, reliability, and operational readiness of the services you support.

Over time, you will deliver secure and dependable capabilities, influence architecture beyond your immediate area, improve API and service reliability, and help the team scale its engineering practices as the Security Products portfolio grows.

Why join Security Products?
  • Build foundational security capabilities for an AI-native cloud platform.
  • Solve challenging problems at the intersection of security, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and customer experience.
  • Work on services where correctness, reliability, and thoughtful security design matter every day.
  • Partner with experienced engineers, product leaders, and security specialists across CoreWeave.
  • Have a direct impact on the trust and adoption of the CoreWeave platform.
