Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Senior Engineer - Planning - Road and Infra to join our organization in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal role, you will lead the planning, design, and development of road and infrastructure projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. As a senior-level professional, you will be responsible for strategic planning, technical oversight, and mentoring junior engineering staff while driving innovation in infrastructure solutions.
- Lead the planning and design phases of road and infrastructure projects from conception through implementation, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and client requirements
- Conduct comprehensive site analysis, traffic studies, and feasibility assessments to inform project planning and design decisions
- Develop detailed technical specifications, design standards, and project documentation using industry-leading software and tools
- Analyze project data and performance metrics to optimize infrastructure solutions and identify areas for improvement
- Manage stakeholder relationships, including clients, government agencies, and contractors, ensuring clear communication and project alignment
- Oversee budget planning, cost estimation, and resource allocation for assigned projects
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers and planning staff, providing technical guidance and fostering professional development
- Ensure compliance with local UAE regulations, international standards, and environmental requirements
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate sustainability and innovation into infrastructure planning
- Review and approve technical drawings, reports, and project deliverables to maintain quality standards
- Participate in project reviews and provide recommendations for process improvements and best practices
- Minimum 8+ years of professional experience in road and infrastructure planning and design
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale infrastructure projects from planning through completion
- Advanced proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and GIS platforms
- Strong knowledge of road design standards, traffic engineering principles, and transportation systems
- Demonstrated expertise in project management, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource coordination
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and technical information
- Knowledge of UAE infrastructure standards, local regulations, and environmental compliance requirements
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities with experience mentoring junior staff
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with cost estimation and value engineering
- Familiarity with sustainability and green infrastructure planning practices
- Professional certification in civil engineering or related field (preferred)
- Experience working in the Middle East region (preferred)
