As a Senior Engineer, you will be involved in delivering the quality and performance of large scale, big data, custom hardware multi-platform software products that includes; web, API and mobile application interfaces. Incumbents in this position are experienced, hands on and self-motivated engineer who can work collaboratively in a continuous integration environment. This role involves working closely with Software Developers and Agile teams that includes leveraging shift-left methods to understand a complex domain and product. You will function as a technical expert on complex applications, work assignments, and business problems.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Tests complex API, web and mobile based applications that reference database back-end systems.
- Creates and maintains automated test cases, executes test suites, reviews and diagnoses reported bugs, and ensures overall system quality prior to a customer release.
- Designs, develops, maintains, and troubleshoots automated suites of tests through continuous integration for value added feedback.
- Works with the engineering teams to derive testing requirements throughout the development cycle.
- Reproduces, debugs, and isolates problems and verify fixes.
- Conducts code reviews, mentors other front-end developers and provides guidance on code management, release management, environment management, process flows and documentation.
- Explores all technical options when considering a solution, including homegrown coding, third party sub-systems, enterprise platforms and existing technology components.
- Actively leads collaborative efforts through all phases of software development life cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, technical design, coding, testing, and release support.
- Understands lifecycle of various technology sub-systems that comprise eCommerce platform (i.e., version, release, roadmap), including current capabilities, compatibilities, limitations and dependencies; understands and advises of optimal upgrade paths.
- Works closely with software developers to create software artifacts including test plans, test cases, test procedures and test reports.
- Works cross functional areas with internal partner engineering teams in a disciplined agile environment.
Qualification:
- Four-year college degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related technical discipline such as Science or Engineering,
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience, preferably in either a Software Development Engineer or (SDET) Software Development Engineer in Test role
- Strong experience with quality engineering processes, open source test frameworks, test design strategies, writing test cases, and automating tests in Java with frameworks like JUnit, Selenium, Cucumber, REST Assured, JMeter and Appium is preferred.
- Hands on experience with coding in JAVA or any other Object Oriented programming language
- Working knowledge of development frameworks
- Working knowledge with build tools
- Working knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies
- Ability to multi-task and reprioritize in a dynamic environment
