Job Description:

Overview:
We are seeking Software Engineers with 5–7 years of experience in developing automated test frameworks, software and hardware validation, and test automation. The selected candidate will contribute to the Microchip Development Tools Validation team.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop automated test frameworks for validating MPLAB Extensions for VS Code, Microchip Partner Development Tools, MPLAB Discover, and AI-powered Microchip development tools.
  • Validate debugging tools including MPLAB X Simulator, MPLAB ICD5, and Pickit5.
  • Design and implement automated test frameworks and workflow automation using AI.
  • Create and execute test plans in accordance with specifications.
  • Work as an individual contributor while also being capable of leading projects when required.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 5–7 years of experience in software development and test automation.
  • Strong knowledge of C, Embedded C, and scripting languages such as Python
  • Hands-on experience in developing test automation frameworks for GUI and embedded tools.
  • Good understanding of embedded software testing processes, test plan creation, and execution.
  • Familiarity with MPLAB X IDE, VS code extensions, DevOps practices, Selenium, CICD tools (Jenkins), and bug tracking tools.
  • Experience working with 8/16/32-bit microcontrollers for developing or testing embedded applications
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Self-motivated, team player with the ability to multitask.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.E.) in Electronics & Communication or Computer Science from a reputed institute.
Good to Have:
  • Experience in test automation and workflow automation using AI tools.
  • Experience with Playwright or Squish for UI test automation.
