Job DescriptionWe are currently recruiting a Senior Drainage Engineer with experience in roadway and railway drainage design, to join our busy and expanding experienced team. The team provides assessment, concept, feasibility, preliminary and detailed designs on a wide range of projects. Our clients work for private and public sector and include long term Framework Agreements with numerous Local Authorities together with Design and Build commissions for many major Contractors. Our group has an established track record of successfully delivering water designs for many years throughout the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand among others. You may have the opportunity to work on some of the most iconic Transportation and Water projects, being part of a diverse and multicultural team for the Europe Global Delivery Center (Poland/Spain).
The responsibilities of this role include:
- Works on detailed engineering assignments involving drainage calculations and design for roadway or railway drainage.
- Performs hydrologic and hydraulic analyses including culvert sizing, storm drain system design, cross-drainage structures, and floodplain impacts at roadway/railway crossings.
- Lead conceptual and final design of drainage infrastructure including culverts, storm drain systems, detention facilities, channels, and erosion control measures integrated with roadway/railway profiles and grading plans.
- Performs self-checks of work products before submission and participates in quality control reviews of documentation from equally or less experienced staff.
- Support project managers with technical input, schedule management, and quality assurance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafters.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Civil, Environmental or Water Engineering or related field.
- Proven track record of working on road or railway drainage designs (8+ years).
- Skilled in hydraulics and hydrology software packages related to drainage, such as Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis and/or StormCAD, HEC-RAS/HMS, etc.
- Advanced level in CAD/BIM/Digital Engineering techniques (preferably Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads Designer).
- Experience with international regulations and standards (i.e. AASTHO, AWWA, Australian Codes, British Standards, etc.) will be considered favorably.
- Experience working in the North America region/Australia will be considered favorably.
- Fluent in English, both oral and written.
