The Role
Entegris is currently seeking an Applications & Design Engineer to join our Specialty Coatings Group team, based in our Bedford, MA facility.
In this role you will support new product development of ALD, PVD, and PECVD coatings and manufacturing scale-up activities through a combination of applications engineering and mechanical design engineering. You will work closely with R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to develop coating applications, optimize manufacturing processes, and design tooling and fixturing solutions that improve product performance, manufacturability, and operational efficiency.
What You’ll Do
Support the development, qualification, and implementation of new coating applications, process capabilities, and manufacturing solutions.
Assist with process development, optimization, troubleshooting, and transfer of new products and technologies into manufacturing.
Design, develop, fabricate, and qualify fixtures, tooling, assemblies, and supporting hardware for product development and manufacturing applications using SolidWorks.
Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, work instructions, and engineering change documentation.
Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Operations, Safety teams to improve manufacturability, process capability, product quality, and manufacturing readiness.
Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities for new products, processes, and design concepts.
Participate in root-cause investigations and continuous improvement activities to address technical and manufacturing challenges.
Support equipment, tooling, and process modifications required to meet product development and manufacturing objectives.
Work with suppliers and vendors to develop components, fixtures, and technical solutions that support engineering and manufacturing activities.
Ensure compliance with company systems and processes including SAP, ETQ, EPDM, Accolade, and applicable quality requirements.
What We Seek
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical discipline required.
Minimum 3 years of experience in applications engineering, design engineering, manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or new product development.
Experience with vacuum technology.
Proficiency with SolidWorks and mechanical design principles.
Experience supporting product development and manufacturing environments.
Strong technical problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams while managing multiple priorities.
Limited travel required (<10%).
Primarily on-site position with occasional work-from-home flexibility.

· Compensation: $100,000- 135,000 per year with actual pay dependent on candidates’ overall skills for the role
