Job Summary: The Senior Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for promoting a consistent and fair approach to all employee relation matters within the North America region (U.S., Canada, Mexico). Case management of employee relations matters including but not limited to leave of absence, disciplinary and grievances, performance improvement, investigations, and reasonable accommodations. Responsible for maintaining employee relations records and supporting analytics. This position works under the supervision and direction of the Global People Relations Manager but will regularly exercise discretion and decision-making authority.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coach and guide managers on all matters relating to employee relations, and general guidance on HR policies and procedures. Encourage and enable the use of self-service tools.
- Effective case management of people related issues such as disciplinary, performance management, grievance, and absence management (may vary by region) through to conclusion. This work may be carried out independently or in support of cases led by the HRBP (HR Business Partnering), Legal, H&S or compliance teams.
- Undertake investigations, prepare reports and documentation in support of cases in compliance with local law and regulations. May be required to support legal cases preparation.
- Maintain employee relations records both written and held on the HRIS system. Responsible for ensuring compliance with data privacy regulation and other record keeping compliance.
- Monitor trends, collate and analyze data, prepare presentations to enable business insights.
- Promote a positive employee relations culture within the business, through enabling a fair and consistent approach to policies and procedures. May provide training to both employee and managers in support.
- Reviews employee status changes in HRIS in relation to employee relation matters e.g. leave of absence, terminations.
- May be required to run employee data reports, support audits, assist with managing employee changes in collaboration with the HRIS team.
- Participates in new hire orientation and other employee engagement activities as directed.
- Conduct exit interviews and provide actionable insight.
- May be required to support regional change programs and special projects as directed.
- Participates in other employee relations activities as dictated by the geographical market.
- Participates in the wellbeing committee and initiatives arising from the committee.
- Completes additional special projects in accordance with assigned deadlines.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Four-year (4) college degree in Human Resources, Business or related field plus five (5) years' experience in Employee Relations.
- HR certification or working towards preferred (PHR, SHRM, CIPD or similar).
- Good understand of employment law and HR best practice with the aptitude to learn and apply knowledge.
- Able to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
- Prior experience of managing investigations required.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to communicate effectively and discretely with all levels of employees, including executives.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to perform duties with high degree of accuracy.
- Must be able to work professionally and calmly, in a time-sensitive, sometimes stressful environment.
- Proficient MS Office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience of managing employee records both written and using HRIS essential, prior Workday experience preferred.
- Ability to protect and handle confidential personnel information.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple tasks under deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Able to work on the computer for several hours each day.
- Some travel may be required; mostly domestic.

Cubic Pay Range:
$80,000– $135,000 + benefits.
The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
