As a Staff/ Senior Emission Analyst in Global Sustainability Team, you will be responsible for leading critical emissions data collection at Micron's R&D and manufacturing sites globally utilizing FTIR and/or other forward-looking analytical technologies. You will be working in close partnership with instrument suppliers and/or vendors, site environmental sustainability leadership teams, site manufacturing teams, site facility teams, global smart manufacturing teams, global labs etc. to perform measurement, optimize measurement methodologies, write and document measurement reports, and provide data insights and recommendations to propel Micron towards the goal of achieving net zero emissions.
Responsibilities
Perform Actual Emissions (process greenhouse gas etc.) Measurement & Reporting
  • FTIR and/or analytics technologies pre-measurement calibration.
  • Coordinate with site manufacturing team for process recipe and dilution flow requirement.
  • Partner with site manufacturing and/or facility teams to perform abatement destruction and removal efficiencies (DRE) measurement and optimize abatement, setpoints where required.
  • Analyze measured data and write measurement reports (DRE etc.) according to international standards.
  • Use of Artificial intelligence and data analysis techniques to provide critical insights to reduce emissions at Micron.
  • FTIR and/or analytical technologies maintenance and troubleshooting in collaboration with instrument suppliers.

Optimize Actual Emissions Measurement & Reporting Procedures
  • Optimize the existing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for abatement DRE measurement and streamline reporting to improve measurement and report writing efficiencies.

Innovation and Training
  • Partner with instrument suppliers and/or ventures to explore and deploy forward-looking analytical technologies for improved accuracy and efficiencies in emission measurement.
  • Partner with workforce development to create training materials on new and innovative emissions measurement and conduct training courses for a team of future emission analysts and technologists.
  • Use of Artificial intelligence and optimization modelling on DRE data to create emission models for a variety of process tool and abatement combinations.

Requirements
  • Bachelor or Master or PhD in Analytical Chemistry or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of working experience with FTIR, QMS and other relevant analytical instruments.
  • Prior experience in gas phase measurement, especially greenhouse gas measurement and reporting using FTIR technology is preferred.
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin.
  • Strong communication, presentation and technical report writing skills.
  • Strong skills in decision-making, prioritization, and negotiation.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and statistical skills.
  • Prior experience with AI, data analytics and automation related projects will be beneficial.
  • Strong teamwork and consensus-building skills.
  • Familiarity with IPCC 2019 Tier 2c methodology and U.S. EPA DRE measurement protocol is preferred.
