Job Description

Job title:
Develops (parts and elements of) products, systems and/or solutions according to the V-model that serve user and business requirements amongst others by applying internal and external research results and technology advancements while taking care of the total system as well as inner workings of a design

Your role:

  • Responsible for the electronic and electrical aspects in the product development, realization of product release/lifecycle and aftercare of innovative products meeting quality and compliance, function, safety, security and cost targets.

  • Define system-level electronic architecture including MCU, power, sensing, motor drive, connectivity, and protection circuits,

  • Define element requirements and develop detail electronic circuit design, including simulation and design verification testing of the new design.

  • Hands on hardware design and firmware/software or work with software engineers.

  • Selects new parts taking into consideration obsolescence, availability, and cost.

  • Prepares and presents electronic designs to other members of the design team and project stakeholders at design reviews.

  • Ensure full Product Safety Risk Management in a regulation compliant manner

  • Finalizes the design and integration and establish verification criteria to ensure key requirements could be validated within agreed constraints of the design

  • Carry out PCB layout of design and lead prototyping and debugging of design

  • Writes verification plans. Test, analyses, and verifies the quality of the design.

  • Lead problem solving. Do the root-cause analysis of production problems and consumer complaints.

  • Responsible for delivering input in the planning process to the project manager. Draws up personal schedules and reports on progress in a structured and methodical way.

  • Documents design work and prepares reports according to provided templates from the I2M processes. Ensure design files, design history file, BOM and other relevant information are kept up to date and stored in accordance with company procedures.

  • Continuous improvement and maintenance on quality and cost for mass production products.

  • Lead and/or be involved in various parts of the product life cycle from Innovation, Quotation, to Development phases by working with the customer and suppliers.

  • Lead as key competence resource in multi-partner cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.

  • Attends training to develop skills and knowledge to keep up to date with latest technology

You're the right fit if:

  • Bachelor’s degree and above in Electronic and Electrical engineering

  • 10+ years of strong all round electronic design, development, test, and software/firmware skills in consumer products industry.

  • Strong knowledge of Analogue and Digital Design including microprocessors/microcontrollers, programmable logic, embedded firmware/software, PCB design and design for EMC/EMI, firmware development.

  • Knowledge of product development methodology, traceability method, design methods and processes, system, and functional safety requirements management.

  • Strong understanding of the hardware of systems as well as the hardware the system connects.

  • Experience supporting products through volume manufacturing

  • Medical device experience (risk management, safety standards)

  • Familiar with Design for Six Sigma, Lean development, FMEA, MS office applications.

  • Disciplined team worker. Accurate and quality minded, cost and quality conscious.

  • Critical thinker with outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Confident communicator with ability to effectively present concepts and ideas both verbally and visually in English in a multi-site international setting. Proficient in Chinese and English writing and speaking.

  • Knowledge or certified with ISO13485

  • Occasional travel for business

Skills Required
