We are looking for a talented Senior Electrical Safety Specialist to join our team, specialising in electrical safety for commissioning and service operations across Europe within our Distribution Business Unit.
This role can be based at any Cummins location within the United Kingdom.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Provide technical leadership, governance and authorisation of electrical commissioning personnel and contractors across DBU Europe.
- Own and drive standardisation of electrical safety requirements, protocols and assurance processes for commissioning and service operations across Europe.
- Lead electrical safety assurance and risk reviews during commissioning, energisation and aftermarket activities.
- Identify gaps in readiness and implement corrective actions to ensure safe energisation of LV/HV systems.
- Drive hazard identification, risk assessment and implementation of sustainable control measures.
- Act as a recognised subject matter expert for LV/HV electrical safety, leading resolution of complex technical issues across projects.
- Lead and promote a strong health, safety and environmental culture, influencing safe behaviours across regional teams and stakeholders.
- Analyse HSE data, audit findings and compliance results to deliver risk-based improvements and drive continuous improvement.
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Strong technical knowledge of LV/HV electrical systems and associated risks and control measures.
- Proven ability to assess competence, coach others and support authorisation of electrical personnel and contractors.
- Experience applying electrical safety standards and regulatory requirements in operational or project environments.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders across multiple countries and business areas.
Education/Experience:
- Degree in Health, Safety, Environmental, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline preferred.
- Relevant professional certification in HSE or electrical safety preferred.
- Experience in electrical safety within industrial, power generation, energy storage or similar high-risk environments.
- High Voltage Authorised Person or Senior Authorised Person (HV SAP), or equivalent experience, preferred.
