You will join a team developing state-of-the-art general-purpose robots designed to operate in human spaces and with human tools. It is designed to work alongside humans, mobilize to human spaces, and manipulate the world around it.
JOB SUMMARY
We're looking for an Electrical Engineer with experience in DFM / DFT, root cause analysis, proven hands-on capabilities, and a strong industry background. We are primarily interested in candidates with prior implementation experience in PCBA / electrical assembly design / manufacturing. In this role, you will be responsible for providing subject matter expert support for wider ranging manufacturing processes and function as the key liaison with manufacturing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES or KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provide feedback and develop processes for design for manufacturing and test (DFM, DFT) for PCBAs and wiring harnesses
- Work with vendors and manufacturing leading up to design release, at design release, and during initial builds
- Conduct build-readiness reviews and create technical documentation packages for design releases
- Work with supply chain to manage bills of materials (BOM), component sourcing, and component substitutions
- Troubleshoot PCBAs, harnesses, system builds, field failures, and manufacturing issues as part of failure analysis and root cause analysis
- Maintain processes for design release, product lifecycle management, manufacturing team support, engineering change orders
- Modify electronics and wire harness designs based on manufacturing and supply chain feedback
- Develop design documentation to support system bring and system field deployment
- Travel up to 20% within US and internationally
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Experience with product lifecycle management and PLM systems such as Arena
- Competent in CAD tools including Altium, or similar tools
- Experience with developing and maintaining CAD design rules
- Proven experience designing, prototyping, and debugging PCB/PCBAs as well as interfacing with manufacturing groups during release/build
- Familiarity/experience with electronics lab tools and simulation tools (ex: LTSpice, PSpice)
- Excellent communication (verbal & written); will be expected to develop detailed build assembly instructions and diagrams
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Science Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 7+ years of experience in Electronics Design, Electrical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering
