Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Electrical Engineer (Theme Park and Entertainment) to join our team in Qatar!
In this role, you will be part of the Construction Supervision Consultant team and support the delivery of a landmark luxury hospitality and entertainment development featuring immersive entertainment experiences, world-class hospitality, premium retail, and diverse leisure attractions.
You will supervise the installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of conventional and specialist electrical systems, including MV/LV power distribution, substations, emergency power, ride power, show power, entertainment lighting, audiovisual infrastructure, low-current systems, show controls, and other themed entertainment installations.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Supervise the construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of all electrical systems in accordance with the Contract Documents, approved IFC drawings, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
Monitor the Contractor’s electrical works to ensure compliance with approved quality standards, construction methodologies, project schedules, and HSE requirements.
Review and provide technical comments on shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, inspection requests, and other technical submissions related to electrical works.
Supervise the installation and integration of MV/LV distribution systems, substations, transformers, generators, UPS systems, lighting, emergency power systems, earthing, lightning protection, and other building electrical services.
Provide technical oversight for specialist themed entertainment electrical systems, including ride power, show power distribution, control power, entertainment lighting, audiovisual infrastructure, low-current systems, show control interfaces, and other specialist installations.
Coordinate electrical interfaces with architectural, structural, mechanical, fire and life safety, ICT, ride systems, show systems, utility infrastructure, and specialist attraction vendors.
Witness inspections, Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, functional testing, integrated systems testing, and electrical commissioning activities to verify compliance with project requirements.
Monitor construction quality through regular inspections, identify non-conforming works, and coordinate corrective actions with the Contractor and QA/QC team.
Support the Resident Engineer in evaluating variations, technical issues, engineering clarifications, and site instructions related to electrical works.
Coordinate with operators, specialist suppliers, manufacturers, and commissioning teams to support the successful integration and operational readiness of all electrical systems.
Participate in snagging, de-snagging, substantial completion inspections, handover activities, and Defects Liability Period inspections related to electrical systems.
Review as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, commissioning documentation, warranties, and handover records for completeness and compliance with project requirements.
Prepare technical reports, inspection records, progress updates, and recommendations for submission to the Resident Engineer and Project Management team.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Professional Engineer, Chartered Engineer, or equivalent professional registration is preferred.
Minimum 12 years of experience supervising electrical works on major hospitality, entertainment, mixed-use, or destination developments.
Demonstrated experience in Construction Supervision or Resident Engineering roles on large multidisciplinary projects.
Proven experience supervising electrical systems associated with themed entertainment developments, theme parks, integrated resorts, attraction facilities, or other complex leisure destinations.
Strong experience with power distribution systems, emergency power, lighting systems, low-current systems, entertainment lighting, audiovisual infrastructure, and electrical building services.
Experience supervising testing and commissioning, integrated systems testing, operational readiness, and project handover.
GCC experience is highly desirable.
