PeopleCert is looking for a Senior Editor/Editorial Associate, experienced in publishing English content, who will be responsible for commissioning, developing, reviewing, editing, and proofreading our Business & IT products, i.e. ITIL, PRINCE2, DevOps Institute.

As a Senior Editor/Editorial Associate your tasks will include the following:

  • Develop, edit and proofread content to ensure alignment with product specifications, instructional design specifications, structure and language consistency and excellent quality
  • Work closely with subject-matter experts, commissioning editor, product development, and product management to ensure that core guidance is aligned with the product specification
  • Source and liaise with Subject-Matter Experts (SMEs) and external partners, integral to product development
  • Liaise with various other internal and external teams to ensure the successful development and delivery of products, including designers, product team, marketing and printing
  • Monitor the process and report to the Project Manager, to ensure that projects are delivered to the agreed deadline, budget and specifications

What we look for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a similar field
  • 5+ years experience in a similar role in publishing, including experience in managing SMEs and learning assets including Books, Digital Content and Training Materials
  • Exceptional copywriting, copyediting and proofreading skills
  • Proven experience in working well under pressure with tight deadlines, as well as solid teamwork and project management skills
  • Experience in Learning Management Systems (LMS) & Content Creation for learning platforms, will be an asset
  • Native or excellent command of the English language (C2 level certification is required, LanguageCert C2 LTE or C2 IESOL certificate would be a plus)
  • Be at the top of technology solutions, and use the latest tools as per the latest tech trends (e.g. creating content with AI tools)
  • Knowledge & understanding of PRINCE2 or ITIL qualifications will be an asset
  • Advanced computer literacy is required. ECDL Advanced level certification is desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Well organized, detail-oriented, and analytical. Decision-making, able to work in a high-volume, complex, and fast-paced publishing pipeline
  • Ability to spot potential issues before they arise and escalate as necessary, and navigate/ negotiate competing demands and priorities from across the business

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)

Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.

If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:

  • A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)
  • HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)
  • Financial background check
  • Employment reference check.
  • If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK.

In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in the English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
