What is a day in the life of the Sales Engineer?

  • Identifying high-potential brand partners and building the data-driven business cases that win them.
  • Turning Amazon and marketplace data into a clear, compelling story for brand executives, with realistic expectations Pattern can deliver on.
  • Presenting directly to brand leadership teams alongside Account Executives, who want you on every call that matters.
  • Serving as the in-house expert on Amazon Seller Central, the 3P model, and Pattern’s capabilities.
  • Partnering with sales, ads, data science, brand management, and finance to shape strategy for prospects and close deals.
  • Setting up a smooth handoff from sales to brand management so the story you sold is the story we deliver.
  • Prioritizing your pipeline daily so the highest-value accounts get the best materials and the reps get sharp insights.

What will I need to thrive in this role?

  • 3+ years of in-house ecommerce experience at a brand, with hands-on ownership of a 3P Amazon business.
  • Expert-level command of Amazon Seller Central (or Vendor Central) and the 3P model: Buy Box, FBA/FBM economics, advertising, catalog and listing optimization, inventory, account health, and marketplace fees. Or the likes of other 3P or 1P marketplaces.
  • Strong analytical skills (Excel/Google Sheets) and the ability to find the insight that matters inside messy marketplace data.
  • Exceptional storytelling: you can turn analysis into a narrative that moves an executive from skepticism to conviction. Expect to show us how you do it.
  • Executive presence: comfortable presenting to C-suite and senior brand leaders, adapting tone and depth to the audience.
  • A sharp understanding of brand pain points, so decks and business cases feel built for them, not templated.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and pull in the right experts to strengthen a business case.
Current on industry trends, benchmarks, and Pattern proof points, and able to weave them into the story.

What does high performance look like?

  • You are friendly, trustworthy, and a high-performer.

  • You actively volunteer and participate in group collaborations.
  • You take full ownership of your projects to completion.
  • You proactively identify areas of opportunity and work to execute on them.

What is the team like?

  • You will report to the Head of Revenue Operations and work with the other full-time Revenue Operations team members and Sales & Marketing leadership. This team is data-driven and results oriented. You will collaborate regularly with members of your team to implement actionable solutions.

What does success look like in the first 30, 60, 90 days?

  • Our onboarding process should ensure that within 30 days, employees gain product knowledge and understand our value proposition; by 60 days, they should handle calls proficiently; and by 90 days, they should manage deals and understand customer personas. We need to enhance this process significantly.

We are looking for individuals who are:
