We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Director, Applied AI Product Manager to join our Innovation Team and lead enterprise-scale AI transformation initiatives that reimagine how work gets done across the bank. This executive leader will shape the long-term strategy for AI-powered platforms and drive adoption of intelligent automation and agentic systems across multiple business domains.
This role is located in New York, NY (4 days in office per week).
Role Overview:
As Senior Director, Applied AI Product Manager, you will define and lead the enterprise product strategy for AI-powered process transformation across BNY. You will oversee a portfolio of AI platforms and products that enable intelligent automation, decision intelligence, and AI-native workflows across the organization.
You will operate at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Data Science, Operations, Risk, and Compliance, ensuring AI solutions are scalable, governed, and aligned with enterprise modernization initiatives.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
Enterprise Product Vision & Strategy

Define the enterprise strategy and multi-year roadmap for applied AI products and platforms

Identify and prioritizes high-value transformation opportunities across business units

Establish product principles and investment priorities for AI initiatives across the organization

Ensure alignment between AI platform capabilities, enterprise modernization goals, and business strategy
AI-Native Enterprise Transformation

Define how AI platforms reshape enterprise operating models and core business processes

Drive adoption of enterprise-wide AI architecture patterns and reusable automation frameworks

Identify opportunities to scale AI transformation across multiple functions, domains, and platforms
Organizational & Portfolio Leadership

Oversee portfolio-level execution across multiple AI product initiatives

Establish operating models, governance frameworks, and best practices for AI product delivery

Align multiple teams and product leaders to ensure consistent execution across enterprise initiatives
Executive & Enterprise Stakeholder Leadership

Engage executive leadership and enterprise decision-makers to define AI investment priorities

Influence enterprise strategy and drives organization-wide AI adoption

Represent AI product strategy in executive forums and transformation programs
Enterprise Impact & Value Creation

Defines enterprise-level performance indicators for AI transformation and platform adoption

Evaluates ROI and business impact across the portfolio of AI initiatives

Uses insights to guide strategic investment decisions and scaling priorities
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
Required

12–15+ years of experience in product management, digital transformation, or enterprise technology leadership

Deep understanding of:

Enterprise AI platforms

Generative AI and LLM-powered systems

Agentic architectures and orchestration frameworks

Distributed systems and microservices

Event-driven design
-
APIs and integration layers
-
Metadata indexing and retrieval systems

AI lifecycle management and model performance metrics

Experience leading large cross-functional teams and transformation initiatives

Proven ability to define and execute enterprise product strategy

Strong executive communication and stakeholder leadership skills

Experience aligning technology innovation with business strategy and operational outcomes

Bachelor's degree in STEM or related discipline
Preferred

Experience leading enterprise AI or agentic transformation programs within highly regulated industries

Experience scaling AI platforms within Fortune 500 or global technology organizations
-
Familiarity with responsible AI frameworks and enterprise governance models
-
Certifications: CSPO, A-CSPO, SAFe POPM, CSM, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Generative AI specialization.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $100,000 and $300,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
