ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Director, Strategy and Portfolio Management serves as a key member of the CISO, Infrastructure and Cloud Services Leadership Team and acts as the principal strategic advisor to the SVP, CISO, Infrastructure and Cloud Services. This role is accountable for defining, governing, and executing the organization's strategic direction, operating model, financial priorities, portfolio governance, and transformation agenda.
The position provides enterprise-wide leadership across strategy development, business operations, portfolio governance, financial planning, communications, organizational effectiveness, and transformation execution. The Senior Director leads executive decision-support processes, drives prioritization of financial resources, and ensures organizational capabilities, investments, and resources are aligned to enterprise objectives and business outcomes.
Reporting directly to the SVP, this role has broad accountability for shaping how the organization operates , evolves, and delivers value across Security, Infrastructure and Cloud Services. The role leads a team of portfolio, business operations, communications, organizational effectiveness, and change management professionals while providing horizontal leadership across all lines of business.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Enterprise Strategy & Leadership
  • Serve as a standing member of the CISO, Infrastructure and Cloud Services Leadership Team, participating in executive decision-making and shaping organizational strategy, priorities, and operating model direction.

  • Own the development, execution, and continuous evolution of the organization's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with Pfizer Digital and enterprise priorities.

  • Act as the principal strategic advisor to the SVP, CISO, Infrastructure and Cloud Services, providing recommendations that directly influence organizational direction, financial priorities, operating model decisions, and business outcomes.

  • Lead executive governance and decision-support processes, providing insights, recommendations, and options that inform critical leadership decisions across strategy, operations, talent, and transformation initiatives.

Portfolio Governance & Financial Stewardship
  • Establish and govern the enterprise portfolio management framework across Security, Infrastructure and Cloud Services.

  • Lead portfolio prioritization and financial governance processes, exercising final authority for portfolio recommendations and financial allocation decisions within delegated financial and governance parameters.

  • Make trade-off decisions regarding funding, resources, timing, and strategic priorities to maximize business value and organizational outcomes.

  • Ensure financial allocations and portfolio commitments remain aligned with strategic objectives , risk tolerance, regulatory requirements, and operational commitments.

  • Partner with Finance leadership to optimize resource deployment strategies, long-range financial planning, and financial performance.

Organizational Transformation & Operating Model Leadership
  • Own and drive the organizational transformation agenda for the CISO, Infrastructure and Cloud Services organization, including operating model evolution, governance modernization, organizational effectiveness, workforce strategy, and ways of working.

  • Lead initiatives that redefine how the organization operates , makes decisions, manages priorities, allocates resources, and delivers value across Digital and the enterprise.

  • Partner with senior leaders to design and implement organizational structures, governance frameworks, and business processes that improve agility, scalability, accountability, and performance.

  • Establish and sustain a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring the organization continuously evolves to meet changing business and technology needs.

Business Operations & Organizational Performance
  • Direct all business operations functions, including strategic planning, portfolio governance, financial management , communications, organizational effectiveness, talent planning, and executive reporting.

  • Establish performance measures, dashboards, and management systems that provide visibility into organizational health, financial performance, strategic progress, and operational effectiveness.

  • Drive annual strategic planning, operational planning, and business review processes to ensure alignment between priorities, resources, and organizational objectives .

  • Ensure effective governance, risk management, and decision-making processes across the organization.

Communications & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Lead organizational communications, executive messaging, leadership forums, and employee engagement strategies to ensure transparency and alignment across stakeholders.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and represent the organization in strategic and operational forums.

  • Build strong partnerships across Pfizer Digital, business leadership, Finance, PX, and enterprise stakeholders to advance strategic priorities and organizational effectiveness.

Leadership & Talent Development
  • Provide horizontal leadership across multiple business units, fostering collaboration, alignment, and knowledge sharing.

  • Lead teams responsible for portfolio management, business operations, communications, organizational effectiveness, and change management.

  • Develop leadership capability, strengthen organizational effectiveness, and cultivate a high-performing, inclusive culture focused on accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Champion diversity, inclusion, and talent development initiatives that support organizational growth and long-term success.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline required , advanced degree preferred.

  • 12+ years of pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other relevant project management experience

  • Exceptional interpersonal and engagement skills with the ability to establish relationships, influence decisions, and drive to business outcomes.

  • Outstanding communicator, skilled storyteller, excellent at developing highly visual and effective content, and delivering presentations to a variety of audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop talent and build effective teams. Passionate about growing, coaching, and mentoring others.

  • Experience managing large complex dynamic budgets.

  • Strategic and creative thought partner with ability to lead in strong co-creation and collaboration with Digital and business partners across Pfizer.

  • Experienced leading in large global distributed matrixed environments. Skilled at utilizing resources outside of direct authority and championing and executing cross-functional horizontal initiatives.

  • Strong skills in analysis, critical thinking, planning, consensus building, facilitation, negotiation, and the ability to readily learn a new business area.

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, able to analyze large volumes of data and quickly derive and communicate key data points and insights.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $214,900.00 to $358,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
