Job Description
The Senior Director, Sales Operations and Commercial Excellence role at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. presents a unique opportunity to lead a globally distributed Sales Operations team and drive the performance of the commercial team. As a critical member of the global commercial leadership team, you will have the chance to shape the organization and deliver exceptional results.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, finance, HR, and operations teams to enhance the sales operations structure and promote best-in-class strategies.
- Improve sales force efficiency through go-to-market planning, sales process enhancements, and building effective training programs.
- Develop insightful data reporting sales tools to support a global sales team of ~1000 professionals.
- Lead the development and implementation of global strategic projects to optimize performance and advise decision making.
- Design, deliver, and continuously improve tools and processes to expedite key sales activities.
- Lead key commercial processes, special projects, and organizational change initiatives.
- Drive effective communication and teamwork between sales, leadership, and other functions.
Requirements:
- BA/BS in business or technical field preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in sales, marketing, or sales operations in the life sciences market.
- Strong commercial background supporting global teams and executive-level leadership.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Highly motivated, analytical, and operationally focused.
- Experience with standard commercial processes and diverse field sales organizations.
- P&L experience with financial planning and root cause analysis preferred.
- Ability to travel approximately 20-25%.
- US office based, preferably Carlsbad, CA.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $192,700.00–$289,000.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
