JOB DESCRIPTION
The Consumer, Medical & Information Technologies (CMIT) business provides certification, testing, inspection, verification, consulting and training services related to traditional consumer electronics products and the latest categories of products (such as wearable devices and networked cars), small household appliances and medical devices. We provide comprehensive and applicable safety and regulatory requirements support for innovative products and technologies, provide pre conformance testing at the design and development stage to identify potential compliance problems, and formulate targeted testing plans for all target markets. UL Solutions ' CMIT business has helped many manufacturers improve product safety, comply with regulations and industry requirements, bring innovative technologies and electronic products to the market, and meet consumers' requirements for product reliability and performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Director, Regional GM will Increase Testing, Inspecting and Certification (TIC) value by leading strategic, sustainable, and profitable growth through our focus on solving our customers' key challenges and collaborating across UL Solutions, while fostering a winning culture. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Own the Americas region P&L and develop and implement a growth strategy for IT, medical, and consumer electronics.
  • Own strategy based on in depth understanding of local industry dynamics of IT, medical and consumer electronics, in alignment with global Industry leaders.
  • Provide input to Long Rang Planning and execute global strategy with locally relevant initiatives.
  • Maintain in depth understanding of regional industry related dynamics.
  • Establish relevant contacts with key customers, potential global key technology giants, and develop a commercial partnership strategy.
  • Manage financial forecasting and achieving yearly budget.
  • Grow market share and customer base.
  • Leading a team of about 700, ensure teams collaborate and have the right processes and tools in place to best serve our customers.
  • Oversee daily operations within region to accomplish operating goals, including budgeting, capacity planning , financial objectives, sales, operations and employee engagement.
  • Execute new initiatives and investment plans.
  • Own productivity improvement plans.
  • Champion an engaged, inclusive, and attractive work environment for UL Solutions employees with a winning culture.
  • Ensure the right talent is in place to support the needs of the business.
  • Interact with key customers and other stakeholders across the region.
  • Attend industry events and network with customers and key stakeholders.
  • Engage in "deep dives" with big and complex customers.
  • Attend Leadership Meetings, present business plan and strategy.
  • Incorporate Board and Leadership feedback on strategy and actions.
  • Build relationships with Regional leadership, corporate support functions, and other regional leaders.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful, well‑rounded executive with a university degree and typically 15‑plus years of general international management experience in dynamic manufacturing and engineering sectors from electrical, electronics, medical, telecom, hardware, or similar technology-based industries.
  • Proven P&L management experience and driving sustainable and profitable growth.
  • M&A exposure/experience.
  • Experience with large and complex customer interactions, products, and services.
  • Track record of building strong people/teams.
  • Global experience (culture, market, business practices, etc.).
  • Experience leading significant organizational changes.
  • Organizational savvy, ideally having successfully led in a matrixed organizational structure.


Total Rewards:
The salary range for this position is USD $197,000 - USD $265,000 and is based upon years of experience that is commensurate with the level of the position.
All employees at UL Solutions are eligible for annual bonus compensation. The target for this position is 30% of the base salary offered. Additionally, director level employees are eligible for annual long-term incentive. The target for this position is 30% of the base salary offered. Employees are eligible for health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental & financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country, for the relevant position level.
We also provide employees with paid time off including vacation (20 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
