Role Overview

Reporting to the VP of Strategy and Business Operations, the Senior Director of Procurement will lead our strategic procurement function, developing and executing our strategy to reduce cost, improve service levels, and deepen our vendor relationships across the entire direct, indirect, and capex spend categories for hospital and corporate departments. This individual will lead an existing team of 3-4 procurement professionals to execute on the strategy, with the opportunity to grow and develop the team over time. The position will be a highly visible leader in the organization, interacting with the WVP leadership team regularly.

The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of analytical rigor, commercial acumen, and stakeholder leadership, with the ability to set strategic goals, lead a team, and execute with rigor across a multi-site, high-growth environment.

This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days in office per week in central Denver.

Key Responsibilities

  • Departmental Architecture & Strategy: Design and implement the foundational procurement framework, including standardized policies, SOPs, and the development of enterprise-grade procurement systems and processes.
  • Goal Setting: Set global and vendor-level cost takeout goals and create reporting on progress on monthly basis
  • End-to-End Strategic Sourcing: Direct the full procurement lifecycle, including market analysis, RFP/RFQ development, supplier identification, and rigorous commercial evaluations across all categories of direct and indirect spend and capex at practices and corporate locations.
  • Contract Negotiation & Management: Serve as the authority on complex, multi-year master service agreements (MSAs) and statements of work (SOWs) to secure favorable commercial terms, mitigate risk, and ensure robust service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Selection Processes: Collaborate with clinical, corporate, and operational teams to determine preferred vendors and equipment that best suit our operational needs and creates lasting enterprise value at scale
  • Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Cultivate strategic partnerships with key vendors, conducting regular performance reviews and driving continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Corporate Initiatives: Serve as liaison with vendor representatives and internal teams to strategically deploy corporate support funding provided by vendor partners
  • Team leadership: Direct the day-to-day activities of a team of 3-4 procurement professionals, providing guidance and mentorship
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership in procurement and/or supply chain roles
  • Ownership over an entire enterprise or multiple major categories of expenditure ($50-100M+)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field; master’s degree in supply chain management or business administration strongly preferred
  • Significant experience leading complex end-to-end RFPs and vendor negotiations to achieve stronger partnerships, service levels, and improved cost positions
  • Experience in healthcare, veterinary services, or multi-site service organizations strongly preferred
  • Highly commercial skillset with demonstrated capabilities to negotiate unique and/or creative solutions with partners
  • Experience within a private equity-backed, high-growth, multi-site environment preferred
  • Experience leading and developing a team of procurement / supply chain professionals
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex insights for diverse audiences
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. The salary range for this opportunity is $175,000 - $210,000 annually. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The Company offers competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision benefits, vacation, sick leave, 401(k), and more depending on location. You will be provided with more detailed information about compensation and benefits for your specific location. Where required under applicable law, WVP provides eligible employees with paid sick leave, health emergency leave, and similar benefits programs, all in accordance with the requirements of state and local law depending on the location of the practice you support.
