Overview

This role is based at our Needham, MA headquarters and follows a hybrid work model.

The Marketing function at SharkNinja is responsible for driving demand creation, sell-in, and sell-through for both new products and the existing portfolio. SharkNinja marketers adopt a general manager mindset, excelling in cross-functional collaboration across R&D, Engineering, Product, Demand Planning, Creative, Media, Sales, and regional teams.

As a Senior Director of Marketing for Shark, you will act as the category and brand steward, leading the development and execution of the product roadmap and global go-to-market strategies within the Marketing organization. You’ll ensure a consistent voice across channels, including packaging, advertising, social/content marketing, web properties, retail, and trade collateral. We seek a creative, fast-paced marketer who understands the intersection of product, consumer demand, and market trends and has experience building global businesses in established and emerging markets.

Responsibilities:

Global Portfolio Strategy

  • Define portfolio strategy in collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet retailer reset timelines, market share, and margin targets.
  • Serve as the category expert by understanding pricing, purchase drivers, competitive landscapes, and market needs while driving effective product marketing positioning.
  • Translate data into insights and recommend a comprehensive product assortment and roadmap to drive sales.

Communication & Go-to-Market Strategy

  • Partner with Product Development, Marketing Communications, Creative, and Marketing Services to develop brand-building strategies.
  • Execute go-to-market plans, including packaging, in-store displays, digital, and social messaging.

Consumer-First Mentality

  • Collaborate with Consumer Insights to identify and validate key strategic questions related to product positioning, messaging, and pricing.
  • Leverage emerging trends and insights to enhance communications.

Retailer Sell-in

  • Present product value propositions to sales teams and support category management with compelling sell stories.
  • Deliver insights on category trends, competitive landscape, consumer needs, assortment strategies, and promotional plans.

Post-Launch Evaluation

  • Conduct evaluations of activities post-launch and recommend improvements for future initiatives.
  • Develop and implement best practices across all consumer touchpoints.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to make effective presentations to all management levels.
  • Broad marketing expertise, including strategy development, planning, and product launches.
  • Holistic and strategic thinking across the business.
  • Project management proficiency, including managing parallel projects in a cross-functional environment.
  • Analytical mindset for mining data and drawing insights.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, conflict resolution, and influencing abilities.
  • Ability to distill complex product features into compelling consumer benefits.
  • Action-oriented with a “progress vs. perfection” mindset.
  • Experience managing and building highly effective teams and an engaged culture.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of marketing experience, preferably in CPG or consumer products, with direct responsibility for brand strategy, messaging, and communications execution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Expertise in leveraging consumer insights for effective marketing programs.
  • Experience in creative and media development and execution.
  • Proven track record in new product development and commercialization.
  • Global marketing experience strongly preferred.
  • Hybrid role: based in Needham, MA, with 2-3 days in-office per week.
