We are seeking a progressive and forward-thinking tax leader to join our team as the Senior Director of Global Tax Operations. In this pivotal role, you will have the opportunity to lead our Global Tax Operations and Reporting team. This role is responsible for global tax accounting and tax reporting and tax compliance. In addition to strong technical expertise, the successful candidate will build, lead and mentor a team and interface with accounting and the broader finance team, as well as work closely with external stakeholders.
This role reports to the SVP, Tax.
This position is a hybrid role and MUST be onsite at our corporate headquarters in Radnor, PA THREE days per week.
What we’re looking for:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or a tax-related field. A master's in tax, LLM, or a comparable advanced degree is strongly preferred.
- Experience: 15+ years of diverse tax experience in a fast-paced environment, with Big 4 accounting firm experience and corporate/in-house experience with US-based multinational public company
Who you are:
- Strong commercial mindset and extensive experience with domestic income tax compliance, indirect taxes, and tax accounting and reporting under ASC 740 for public US-based multinational corporations.
- Strong understanding of accounting methods, stock compensation, FDII, GILTI and other US and state tax positions impacting US-based multinational public companies.
- Experience with managing automated processes and using tax technology effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to be hands-on, resourceful, detail-oriented, and results-oriented.
- Proven experience in leading, managing, developing, and motivating a high-performance, diverse teams.
- Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills to convey complex tax matters with simplicity and clarity to non-experts across the organization.
How you will thrive and create an impact:
- Lead the global tax provision and related SEC disclosures, ensuring compliance with ASC 740. Responsible for the global consolidated tax provision, quarterly filings, and preparation and review of the tax footnote and related disclosures
- Ensure analytics and accuracy of the reported effective tax rate components as well as the forecasted effective tax rate and cash taxes globally.
- Drive continuous process improvements to streamline the global tax accounting process. Oversee controls and ensure processes, documentation and related systems are in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
- Lead the US federal, state, and Canadian income tax compliance function and manage the global tax compliance and support function through a combination of managing in-house tax professionals and outsourced teams.
- Champion operational excellence through process improvement, leveraging best practices, supporting the evolution of tax software tools, and promoting automation and technology to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Develop, recommend, and implement a transformation strategy to expand the tax operations function globally.
- Lead the global tax operations team with a growth mentality and mentor tax team members to promote a high-performance culture emphasizing collaboration, professional development, and strategic thinking.
- Collaborate with the Senior Director – Global Tax Planning on tax planning, global tax controversy, internal restructurings, mergers and acquisition and new business initiatives to understand all impacts to and considerations for the Tax Operations function.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal partners and peers (including FP&A, controllership, treasury, and legal) and external consultants and statutory auditors.
- Collaborate in the leadership of the entire tax organization by advising and providing guidance and input on various organizational matters and strategic organization design; learn and understand how all functions within the Tax department contribute to the business.
- Utilize complex income tax concepts in both an Internal Revenue and FASB context including pensions, revenue & expense recognition, and purchase accounting to support SVP with other teams to provide tax technical input in the implementation of processes related to deployment of new tax strategies and initiatives.
- Lead various cross-functional initiatives within the finance organization.
- Other tax related tasks as needed.
