About the Role:

CrowdStrike is in search of an Engineer II - Virtualization to join our growing Production Services team. The candidate will play an important role in engineering and maintaining solutions for our production systems environments.

 

What You’ll Do:

• Design and maintain complex technical systems architecture, providing recommendations for improvement

• Manage and support large-scale production deployments of servers and applications inside internal datacenters

• Administer Linux systems across thousands of bare metal servers and virtual machines

• Develop and improve scripts, automation tools, and operational workflows — leveraging AI tools where applicable to accelerate development and enhance solutions (Python, Go, PowerShell)

• Troubleshoot server hardware, hypervisor, and infrastructure issues

• Participate in on-call rotation with incident management responsibilities including response via PagerDuty, troubleshooting with or without runbooks, and contribution to post-mortems

 

What You’ll Need:

• US Citizenship or Green Card holder status

• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience in Computer Science

• Experience with infrastructure technologies at scale including Linux, Windows, VMware, Docker, and Kubernetes

• Hands-on experience administering large-scale OpenStack environments in production

• Experience managing VMware vCenter/ESXi at scale including HA, DRS, and vMotion

• Working knowledge of L2/L3 networking, VLANs, bonding/LACP, BGP and DHCP

• Configuration management experience with one or more tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible

• Experience writing technical documentation

• Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.

Preferable Qualifications:

• Knowledge of vSphere Lifecycle Manager (vLCM)

• Knowledge of bare metal provisioning using OpenStack Ironic or Bifrost

• Knowledge of block storage solutions, such as TrueNAS, Ceph/Rook-Ceph, or Dell PowerFlex

• Knowledge of networking protocols (DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SNMP) and the OSI model

• Knowledge of monitoring solutions, such as Prometheus, Grafana and Zabbix

• Knowledge of CI/CD and configuration management tools (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Chef, Ansible, Salt)

• Self-learning capabilities, taking initiative in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment

• Work effectively and professionally with cross-functional groups across divisions, worldwide, as part of a team

• Team-player, positive attitude and flexible with a distributed team in multiple time zones

• Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and have the ability to make good, timely decisions

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required

CrowdStrike, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Placement within the pay range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, job level, supervisory status, and location. The base salary range for this position for all U.S. candidates is $100,000 - $145,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, 401k and paid time off.
