The Opportunity:

Revolution Medicines is seeking a Senior Director of FP&A to join our growing Finance team. The Senior Director of FP&A will act as the key financial business partner for our PDM (CMC/Tech Ops), Research, and G&A functions, providing strategic and operational finance support as these functions continue to grow. The leader will manage and coach a team of FP&A business partners to support informed decision making, resource allocation, and financial performance. This role will report to the VP, FP&A and will collaborate with functional and Finance leadership closely.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional business partnerships to forecast and track activities by embedding finance into decision-making processes.

  • Collaborate with various levels of management in PDM (CMC/Tech Ops), Research, and G&A functions to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare operating budgets and financial forecasts during planning cycles (e.g., annual budget, mid-year re-forecast, etc.).

  • Act as a thought partner to G&A, Research, PDM and Finance leadership, translate business strategy and operating plans into clear financial implications, and drive sound financial decisions and operational efficiencies.

  • Coordinate budgeting and tracking of ex-US resources in areas of responsibility with Finance colleagues in ex-US regions.

  • Provide financial direction to key stakeholders with proactive recommendations, supported by robust financial analysis and insightful delivery.

  • Oversee accruals in areas of responsibility to ensure that month-end, quarter-end, and year-end actuals reflect accurate financial information.

  • Develop and prepare monthly internal financial management reporting packages; spearhead monthly variance analysis of actuals to budget, investigate any major discrepancies, and articulate key business drivers.

  • Support ad hoc analyses and special projects, providing timely and accurate financial insights to support organizational initiatives.

  • Help drive process improvements and efficiencies in areas of financial planning, financial analysis, and production of reporting packages.

  • Hire, coach, and mentor direct reports and adjacent team members, promoting a culture of high engagement, high performance, collaboration and continuous improvement that values learning and continuous improvement.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.

  • CPA or MBA preferred.

  • 12+ years in biopharmaceuticals finance/FP&A with progressive leadership roles.

  • 5+ years of managerial experience.

  • Experience with PDM (CMC/Tech Ops), Research, and G&A organizations preferred.

  • Experience with global expansion preferred.

  • Working knowledge of GAAP.

  • Excel expertise with modeling experience, PowerPoint proficiency.

  • Extensive experience utilizing financial systems and other business intelligence tools.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with ability to synthesize viewpoints of different functions, while executing on individual and shared goals.

The base pay salary range for this full-time position for candidates working onsite at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA is listed below. Our base pay salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual base pay salary is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, market dynamics, and relevant education or training.

$244,000$305,000 USD
