Individual Accountabilities
- Engineering Delivery & Execution: Own engineering outcomes that enable the product roadmap, ensuring predictable delivery and high-quality deployments in partnership with Product and Delivery.
- Technical Direction & Architecture: Set the technical direction for the business unit, ensuring scalable, resilient architecture and sustainable platform evolution.
- Quality Strategy and Governance: Own the quality strategy, quality management systems, and continuous improvement frameworks, including the vision to drive continued automation.
- Service Health & Operational Performance: Be accountable for platform stability, performance, and availability across production and pre-production environments.
- Technical Debt & Modernisation: Ensure technical debt is visible, prioritised, and actively reduced through refactoring and modernisation initiatives.
- Engineering Efficiency: Improve productivity through streamlined practices and tooling, automation, and effective code management practices.
- People, Capability & Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop Engineering and Quality leaders, build required capability, and drive alignment across Product, Delivery, Operations, Support, and Account Management.
- Risk & Quality Management: Proactively identify and mitigate engineering and quality risks ensuring delivery quality meets or exceeds customer expectations.
Qualifications and Experience
- 10+ years in software engineering and/or quality, with 5+ years in technical leadership and experience leading both engineering and quality functions
- Bachelors Degrees in Engineering, Computer science, or related fields
- Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale software platforms, ideally including content services or digital experience solutions
- Strong background with both cloud-native architectures (AWS preferred) and distributed systems (Linux-based environments preferred)
- Demonstrated accountability for engineering execution, quality outcomes and quality governance
- Deep understanding of modern software delivery practices (Agile, Lean, DevOps, CI/CD, etc.)
- Experience establishing engineering frameworks, standards, and practices across distributed teams
- Experience defining and scaling quality management strategies, including automation and shift-left practices
- Demonstrated success managing engineering teams supporting SaaS or digital experience platforms
- Proven track record of launching successful products, platforms, and/or client-facing service offerings
