We are seeking an exceptionally strategic and results-driven Senior Director of Digital Marketing to lead the planning, execution, and optimization of our digital ecosystem across web, organic, paid media, email, and emerging channels. This role will architect the digital marketing roadmap and manage a team of channel owners, ensuring that all channels drive measurable business outcomes — from brand awareness and engagement to high-quality lead generation and revenue growth. This strategic leadership role requires a rare combination of creative vision, data-driven decision-making, and operational excellence to build world-class digital experiences that resonate across diverse audiences—from patients and advocates to biopharma partners. The ideal candidate is a digital leader with deep expertise across paid, owned, and earned channels, strong analytical acumen, and proven experience translating business objectives into integrated digital strategies. This Senior Director of Digital Marketing will report to the SVP of Marketing.  

Job Responsibilities 

Digital Strategy 

  • Define and execute the company’s digital marketing and channel strategy in alignment with brand, product, and revenue goals.  
  • Own the channel mix strategy, balancing brand-building and demand-generation initiatives.  
  • Develop and execute high-performance lead generation programs with aggressive conversion rate targets  
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging platforms to identify new opportunities for growth.  

Channel Strategy & Optimization 

  • Create and manage comprehensive paid media strategies via an internal team and agencies for digital channels across search, programmatic, and emerging channels, ensuring efficient ROI.  
  • Ensure owned channels (specifically email and blog) engage audiences and nurture prospects.  
  • Oversee web strategy (company marketing site, microsites, acquired web properties) at a high level to ensure usability, performance, CRO, and discoverability (SEO/AEO) alignment.  
  • Develop search strategies (SEO/SEM) that drive qualified organic and paid traffic  
  • Optimize channel performance using analytics, experimentation, and audience insights.  
  • Drive omni-channel personalization and growth strategies  
  • Evaluate and leverage advertising agents and AI-driven media buying platforms to improve efficiency and ROI  
  • Manage multi-million dollar media budgets with rigorous performance accountability and digital techstack  

Website Excellence & Brand Building 

  • Lead a team to design and oversee the development of a world-class website that serves as the central hub for brand storytelling and audience engagement  
  • Craft differentiated digital experiences tailored to multiple segments: patients, patient advocates, healthcare providers, and biopharma partners  
  • Drive content strategy that establishes thought leadership and builds trust across complex healthcare audiences  
  • Ensure seamless user experience, accessibility compliance (WCAG), and mobile optimization  

Team Leadership & Alignment 

  • Build, lead, and mentor a team of channel specialists (web, paid, search, email).  
  • Partner with creative, communications content, and product marketing teams to ensure consistent messaging and execution.  
  • Foster a culture of experimentation, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.  
  • Collaborate with sales and revenue teams to align campaigns with pipeline and revenue objectives.  
  • Oversee channel owner management of agency and vendor partnerships to scale digital execution and innovation.  

Data, Reporting & Insights 

  • Establish channel KPIs and reporting frameworks in partnership with channel experts for visibility into performance, ROI, and impact.  
  • Provide leadership with regular insights on channel performance, competitive benchmarking, and market opportunities.  
  • Ensure accurate tracking and compliance with privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, CAN-SPAM).

Education, Experience, and Skills 

  • 15+ years of digital marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.  
  • Proven success leading multi-channel digital strategies in a B2B or B2C environment.  
  • Expertise across paid media, SEO/AEO, web, social, and email marketing.  
  • Strong analytical skills; proficiency in Google Analytics (GA4), marketing automation platforms, ad tech, and BI tools.  
  • Experience managing and scaling teams, agencies, and digital budgets.  
  • Excellent leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.  

Work Environment 

  • This is a fully remote position. The employee will work from a home office or other suitable remote location with reliable high-speed internet access. Work is performed in a climate-controlled environment using standard office equipment including computer, phone, and video conferencing tools. Your standard work schedule and hours will be established in collaboration with your leader and may be adjusted to align with evolving business needs. 

Physical Demands 

This is a sedentary role requiring prolonged periods of sitting while working at a computer. Physical demands include: 

  • Sitting for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day) 
  • Repetitive use of hands and fingers for typing and mouse operation 
  • Visual acuity for reading computer screens and documents 
  • Ability to communicate effectively via phone and video calls 
  • Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds (office supplies, equipment)
