Position Summary

Advises business leaders by providing data-based strategic direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities. Plans, manages and controls the activities of a team or teams of analysts that provides business intelligence and strategic planning support for business segments or the company at large. Leads initiatives to analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources. Brings expertise or identifies subject matter experts in support of multi-functional efforts to identify, interpret and produce recommendations and plans based on company and external data analysis. Ensures that policies and procedures align with corporate vision. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel ensuring efficient operation of the function. If incumbent is primarily focused on mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances, joint ventures, or licensing agreements, match to Strategic Business Development. Incumbents whose primary role is leading technical teams focused on designing and building reports, reporting tools, and dashboards for data generation should be matched to Data Informatics. This is a general role that leads teams of employees working with multiple types of business data. Incumbents who lead teams focused primarily on analysis and modeling of financial, marketing, or pricing data should be matched to Budget/Financial, Market Research or Pricing as appropriate. May be internal operations-focused or external client-focused, working in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions.
